The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

Looks like a pretty principled defender.

Bigger question is if Quin would ever play a guy like that. Guys whose job it is to make sure the sex machine is plugged into the wall have value keeping the whole operation alive, but Quin gets so focused on being lean enough that only people participating in the action are allowed in. Then he’s baffled why simply having the machine isn’t enough when it matters.

I just saw a horrible call. A guy is defending chris paul about 80 feer from the hoop. He isnt reaching in. His hand isnt on paul. His arms are simply spread wide in a defensive position. Paul swings his arms into the defender as if he was going up for a shot and the refs call a foul and paul gets free throws.
He wa 80 feet from the hoop! He wasnt actually trying to shoot or make a basketball play.

Stupid refs

i mean Crowder played near 30min a game under Quin despite shooting well below 40% and hurting the offense.

Watching the Suns-GSW game and I don't think we can keep up defensively in a playoff series.

I thought Stanley was really good on defense (offense was obviously an issue) last year for the Raptors. He’s been good since he came into the league. Dunn is/was a different type of athlete/defender. Johnson is more of a brick house type guy who doesn’t elevate as well, but he is a lot bigger and his size+quickness is pretty unique. Great matchup against the LeBron+Kawhi types but also spent a lot of time guarding PG’s last year.

To answer your question, no I don’t think Quin would play him. But if we’re replacing a player he also won’t play it’s the same.

Stanley is a guy we could potentially get on a Hinkie special. If we’re not going to play Oni, we should at least replace him with someone with a NG in the future.
