Woj says some massive talents could be available next offseason or even at the trade deadline.

Guys I can see coming available in that timeframe... admittedly some are not massive.

Jrue Holiday/Giannis/Middleton - think the rebuild for the Bucks is coming.
Brandon Ingram/Zion - Something has to give here imo... money gonna be a problem.
Embiid
Donovan or Garland... almost surely will be Donvan though.
Kyrie... just cause.
PG and Kawhi... they FA and stuff so could be available
Lavine or Derozan or both

You forgot Luka, we're monitoring that situation

I didn't forget him... that one is more than a year away imo. I'd be somewhat shocked to see him moved in the next12-14 months. Maybe be the 24-25 trade deadline if things have gone very very wrong.

Probably true, but if they are a dumpster fire this year then I could see him asking out. If Kyrie/Luka doesn’t work, and it's not looking great so far, then that team has a rough looking future.

The Luka stuff is such a crazy pipe dream. Just because he's white doesnt mean he's going to stay in Utah. You'd be paying a ridiculous amount of assets to get the whiniest player in the NBA on a 1 or 2 year deal.

I'd rather just not. I get he's generationally great, but I dont think he's worth that big of a swing given all his faults.

I just think because he is under contract for 2 more years after this year (with a PO for a 3rd) and the fact that he can ask for like $70M a year type extension... that it would take a TON for him to ask out in a strong enough manner that Dallas caves. They will likely move Kyrie at some point if it isn't working and they have a few picks they can use to star chase. I know we are monitoring the situation... which we should be doing with every top 25 or so player.

Side note... I'd add Jaylen Brown to the list I gave earlier... now that he is extended.

I just don't think he will ever be available. In two years he can sign a monster extension if he wants to stay... that is when he would potentially be made available if he won't sign that. If he is passing up that kind of money in Dallas (no state income tax) good luck convincing him to stay in Utah (if we traded for him). My guess is he takes the money and stays... asks out in 4-5 years if it is not good.

FWIW, I don't personally feel like going after Luka is something we should be banking on, but I do believe that Ainge thinks he might become available. I'm not sure if he has some kind of inside information, or is just hoping things continue to go poorly in Dallas.

I really dislike Luka and don't think he's a winning player. My opinion might/will change if we trade for him since... homer.

I would trade everything for Giannis to be paired with Lauri. I don't care what scrubs you fill in around that it wins a championship. Look at what Khris, the least athletic NBA player ever, turned into next to him. Imagine a real star with him.

Luka is a winning player... he's got some warts... but let's not act like homeboy wasn't dominating grown *** men as a teenager and winning at a very high level. There may be limits to his current style. He's 24 and been to the conference finals... Steph at 24 hadn't made an all-star team yet. Career playoff averages of 32.5/9/8... His team had a bad year and he does cry a lot... but dude is a winner.

This reflects a lot of my feelings. And I acknowledge that it could very incomplete and look really bad in a decade, but it’s where I’m at in a simplistic fashion.

Imo he has a higher percentage chance of being the next Harden than he does the next Steph
