The official "let's impeach Trump" thread

Yes. I saw something like this on Tom Nichols’ twitter today. Barr was the AG who covered up the Iran contra affair.

I remember reading that he has a Cheneyesk view of the “imperial presidency.” Cheney is known for having strong feelings about the strength of the executive branch. He developed these while serving in Nixon’s administration. He felt like Nixon never should have been compelled to turn over the tapes and had every right to use his powers to shut down investigations without any congressional oversight.

Likewise, Barr used his powers to shut down Iran contra, Mueller, and is currently (proven by the whistleblower) to be abusing his powers to manufacture dirt on Donald’s political opponents.

It's like he was created in a laboratory to be the perfect AG for Trump's corrupt obstructionist administration.

Trump always whined that sessions didn’t defend him. Trump didn’t learn that the AG isn’t his personal lawyer. And it appears with Barr by how side, he never will. I just hope Rudy keeps going on Fox News and CNN and continues to implicate Barr. Hopefully he’s got tasty emails and texts to show us next time that we can use to impeach Barr. That would be great.

Their attempts to throw each other under the bus certainly has been entertaining.

Speaking of Barr, I'm really curious to find out what he is getting up to in Italy right now.

Thanks for bringing this up from your couch in Draper errr Wyoming. I remember seeing this posted earlier today and shrugged, “meh, Barr’s corrupt.” Now if you google it and read about Barr in 1992, he was a complete *******. It’s amazing that he was confirmed again to be AG. Just goes to show how ridiculous this senate has become.

I remember reading at the start of this wretched presidency that the legislative was going to flex its muscles and offer pushback that the executive hadn’t seen in years. Giggle. Up until this week, the legislative branch had never been streamrolled this bad. Even now, the senate merely serves as a rubber stamp for the executive. Hopefully this changes soon.

In case you're wondering why the whistleblower was able to file a complaint of "urgent concern" without having first-hand knowledge of the events he alleges took place, this is why...

Intel Community Secretly Gutted Requirement Of First-Hand Whistleblower Knowledge

Federal records show that the intelligence community secretly revised the formal whistleblower complaint form in August 2019 to eliminate the requirement of direct, first-hand knowledge of wrongdoing.

Between May 2018 and August 2019, the intelligence community secretly eliminated a requirement that whistleblowers provide direct, first-hand knowledge of alleged wrongdoings. This raises questions about the intelligence community’s behavior regarding the August submission of a whistleblower complaint against President Donald Trump. The new complaint document no longer requires potential whistleblowers who wish to have their concerns expedited to Congress to have direct, first-hand knowledge of the alleged wrongdoing that they are reporting.

The brand new version of the whistleblower complaint form, which was not made public until after the transcript of Trump’s July 25 phone call with the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky and the complaint addressed to Congress were made public, eliminates the first-hand knowledge requirement and allows employees to file whistleblower complaints even if they have zero direct knowledge of underlying evidence and only “heard about [wrongdoing] from others.”

The internal properties of the newly revised “Disclosure of Urgent Concern” form, which the intelligence community inspector general (ICIG) requires to be submitted under the Intelligence Community Whistleblower Protection Act (ICWPA), show that the document was uploaded on September 24, 2019, at 4:25 p.m., just days before the anti-Trump complaint was declassified and released to the public. The markings on the document state that it was revised in August 2019, but no specific date of revision is disclosed.

I think you need to take a break and get some sleep. You've been working awfully hard these last few days.

Oh man, thanks for posting this. I was wondering when this little bit of misinformation would find its way on here. As usual, you don't disappoint.

Open for thread debunking this.

Here's some more :

@Catchall maybe you should take your own advice and get some rest. Getting owned repeatedly has got to be tiring you out.

Listening to your allegations based on hearsay, speculation and flat-out wishful thinking, isn't getting owned. But then again, the absence of evidence is a recurring theme in this thread, beginning with the OP.

Yeah, I'm done for the night. I've checked into this site a few times today and saw I have lots of alerts. Some people here really aren't qualified to talk about politics in any constructive or rational way.

This is very rich for someone caught out posting flat out misinformation multiple times tonight. Maybe tomorrow try posting fewer lies, k?
