Meh I think it's Democrats making it a joke. From day one it's been nothing but resist. It's been something stupid every day with them. Every damn day. That's not an exaggeration. As far as impeachment, as I said let's get the ball rolling. You all claim it's so damning yet a week later and we're still going off of a John Does words.Just a wild guess. Sondland was not allowed to testify because team Trump realized he would not hide the conversation with Trump preceding the text message stating to Taylor that there was no quid pro quo. That text comment was meant to be on the record, to counter what Taylor said. Chances are Sondland would implicate Trump in a coverup if he testified. Everybody has to be lawyered up, and you don't really want to lie to these Congressional committees. He would have been really grilled on that conversation with Trump.
If Trump is covering up his quid pro quo, it will ultimately be his own words that lead to that particular article of impeachment. With Nixon, he didn't destroy the tapes, and his coverup was suddenly bathed in the light of day. I think we should expect more light on Trump via the Ukraine phone call. And I don't think the decision on Syria and the Kurds is sitting well with a lot of Americans. Would not surprise me if that is playing, or will play, into the trend upward in favor of impeachment. Absorbing that decision and comparing what we see to his self described "great and unmatched wisdom" is really jarring. The entire presidency is a cruel joke.
As far as Syria I am absolutely baffled people want conflict. I seriously can't fathom why my used to be liberal Democrats want to get into something that we simply can't solve. One second were bitching about military budget the next were complaining we don't use it.
