You’re just seeing negotiating tactics at this point. The parties have barely shaken hands. And nothing about Orlando right now says, “Yeah, you definitely want to be here.”Murmurs in Orlando are saying that Otto Porter is staying with them rather than seeking a buyout.
Yes backup centers who play decent basketball are rare.Backup centers who can play decent basketball are rare.
he's not some all-star who only needs a ring to prove his case. He's taking his money.Murmurs in Orlando are saying that Otto Porter is staying with them rather than seeking a buyout.
He will assess the situation... if he can get out of his deal without giving back too much I think he will have his pick of many different good situations. If he says he's definitely seeking a buyout they may dig in for mo money. Slow play it a little. You’re just seeing negotiating tactics at this point. The parties have barely shaken hands. Bruh we got Matty Ice... we gonna run all small shooting guards... it gonna be lit AF.This was our opportunity to swing for the fences, we just have too many glaring weaknesses without any upgrades. Our window of opportunity with the older players are slowly closing

There are maybe ten other centers in the NBA who would not have a dreadful comparison with Gobert, and I don't think it's even that many. We don't get a Gobert to back up Gobert. Who in the league gets a positive Real Plus/Minus with Gobert on the other side of that? And anyone who watch Jazz ball will tell you that Favors isn't one of them. He's been rather underwhelming thus far and only reason it hasn't hurt the Jazz was because he played very few minutes. And our offensive/defensive ratings have been dreadful with him on the floor compared to Rudy.
Too risky. It's all on Brantley/Oni now.I think the Jazz would have needed to offer Bogdanovic, Royce O'Neale and a pick to Orlando to take back Aaron Gordon and another player (e.g., Aminu or Ross).
Wouldn't have been worth it unless you're totally sold on Aaron Gordon.
