Trade deadline discussion

I really hope we don't trade Joe. He won't play more this year, but he's still a locker room presence.
He likely wouldn't leave but would be limited on how much he could be around. They should find a work around.... give him a ball boy gig.

They got rid of Neto. Reacquire him. Give Rudy a buddy.
I wouldn't mind turning JC into Fournier if we got Grimes or some other good draft capital back. His contract is bad, but as a player I like him as a 3rd guard.

I agree. Fournier would be a good pickup if we could get him for cheap. He's like a wing version of Bojan. I hate his contract, but if we are going for it all, go for it. If we traded expirings for him, NY would send us value back.

Indiana can get to about 30M in space by offloading Craig and Holiday. Maybe more if they move Sabonis.

They are a small market team obvi, but there are some intriguing free agents they could get in on... if they tried.

I would ask what their plans are for Brogdon. He's big enough to play 1 - 3 and could be versatile on the perimeter, like say, Desmond Bane. He's been injured a lot this year though.

I've been trying to figure out how to make this happen, it would be tricky.

1. If the new team lets his contract expire, the Jazz can't re-sign him until free agency next year. If he's bought out or waived, the Jazz can't resign him
until 1 calendar year after he's traded:
2. The NBA doesn't allow player-coaches anymore. I'm doubting they can hire an active player in any other capacity.

However, there's nothing preventing them from having Joe come in for free and just hang out. Not sure he'd want to, although I'm not sure if there's
anything preventing them from having the trainers and med staff help him do rehab on his knee.

So far, the only way I can think of is to have him join the broadcast team, since the Jazz don't own AT&T sportsnet. I really like this option, because
that means we get to him hear talk, and maybe he makes it a post career gig and stays in the states (dear god please let this happen.)

What about....

Charlotte gets Clarkson
Indiana gets Ish Smith and a 2nd from Utah
Utah gets PJ Washington and Holiday

Charlotte seems to want to win now, and Clarkson could help them off the bench.

Indiana gets an expiring and a 2nd for Holiday.

We get two guys to defend the perimeter and we actually save a couple million this year in salaries on the deal.

It’s wild to me that the league did nothing about Dragic working out at Heat facilities and attending games. We’re not the Heat or Riley, so this would be like their points of emphases when they fine people and they wait for low level guys to make an example with.

Can't be moved until the offseason because he signed an extension.

Have you completely missed the fact that players like playing with players they get along with?

We got Paschall because we needed a guy like Paschall and the price was cheap. It's not some overarching trend. We've made one move.
Lol. You are so ridiculous. This isn't high school. These guys are getting millions of dollars to play. Thats the motivation. Not being part of the cool kids. Giving a player too much leverage over a franchise never works out.

I don't think they sell low on Washington... have one more year to do that.

They guys to watch in Charlotte to me are Oubre and Martin. They like both guys but likely can't bring everyone back if they keep Bridges.

I thought Washington was a restricted free agent this summer?
