Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

You cannot trade everyone. We need guys on the team this year. You can always trade him later if he doesn't fit team/find a role.
Respectfully, I disagree with that view. If you can get more picks for Bogey, Conley, Clarkson, Beverley and Beasley they should go for it. Play the guys you get sent to cover salary in the trade. Then, maybe look to flip them at the deadline for more assets if you’re able to. Completely turn the roster over twice in less than one full season and accumulate the biggest haul of draft picks that has ever been seen.

You don’t think we could get 12 1sts total for Donovan, Beverley, Clarkson, Conley, Beasley, Bogey and Vanderbilt?
No. (Or maybe if we do, somehow, they'll be on average about pick 25. I doubt teams will be giving us many likely high-quality picks.) As usual, I'll hope to be proven wrong.

I mean, look what you can do with 1st round picks.

Jerami Grant and Malcom Brogdon were traded for a single 1st rounder.

Dejounte Murray was traded for 3 first rounders and a swap.

None of the picks that were traded are clearly destined to be lottery picks.

Having a big base of draft assets is huge. Draft assets are universal currency in the NBA. Once you use it on a player, the currency becomes less universal. It's good to have a lot of picks spread out over years knowing full well you will only actually use half of them to draft with.

Sure. This makes sense. I want a large cache of draft picks if we're really tanking.

Not sure why you're responding to me though. The part you quoted me about was merely expressing doubt that we can get 12 1st rounders for the pieces we may be selling.

If you can get Ben Simmons and have a sit down meeting with him where you discuss everything with him in an open and honest way, and he's willing to play in Utah, that would probably be my main target tbh.

Get him and you put the right pieces around him and you have a top 20 player. Maybe you hold off on the pieces part so you can lose a lot of games while you rebuild his confidence, then you draft Victor and you are looking at a dynasty.

Wembayana and a rehabilitated Ben Simmons (if he gets back to peak) would be AMAZING.

Plus, all them juicy picks. . .

People here are genuinely not interested in our current prospects at all. Don't they have a game in Vegas in about an hour? There's not even a game thread to post this in. Haha.

Not to be disparaging but they're all a bunch of crap, aside from maybe Butler. Don't think there's a quality future starter in the bunch.

And to be honest, Butler doesn’t interest me all that much because they traded out of the first round to take him, which means he’s only under team control for two seasons instead of 4. Now they’ll have to pay him too early to know what they have. IMO - I might just let Butler hit RFA and see what market (if any) he has then.
