I hate the league right now so I feel ya for not wanting to. But like dogs to our vomit...I just renewed my league pass like a chump.
Yeah... shocking... but not at the same time. Still a big takeaway. My biggest takeaway from media day is that I don’t think the Jazz see Walker Kessler as a big part of their future.
Didn't see the interview, but these snips are great. Seems very easy to cheer for

So weird. They are doing a similar evaluation the Warriors are on JK. "We don't want to pay you like anything close to a star" and then "We need a star return in trade".My biggest takeaway from media day is that I don’t think the Jazz see Walker Kessler as a big part of their future.
It seems this is the same tact that DL took with Haywood and how'd that work out?So weird. They are doing a similar evaluation the Warriors are on JK. "We don't want to pay you like anything close to a star" and then "We need a star return in trade".
Pick a lane.
Its different a little as Walker has more trade value imo. The Lakers offered a couple firsts at one point. Should have taken it if you weren't willing to prioritize an extension. Making no decision will appear to be a "flexibility" play but it actually is more likely to paint us into a corner imo.

Oof.So weird. They are doing a similar evaluation the Warriors are on JK. "We don't want to pay you like anything close to a star" and then "We need a star return in trade".

If you weren't trading him then the absolute focus should have been to get him on a 5 year deal at the most reasonable number possible. Breaking off talks early to preserve cap space is an... interesting strategy.Oof.
If this org had plans/strategies, maybe they’re hoping he balls out trying to get his next contract and then trades him at peak value? Him staying beyond his 2nd contract is looking very doubtful at this stage and that’s probably about when we’ll be wanting to keep him for real.
