Rudys teammates let him down. Rudy actually outplayed capela each of the last two years in the playoffs. (You can compare their playoffs stats on basketballreference.com if you want)

Also playoff series against 1 team shouldn't be the factor in determining how good a player is. You should look at the biggest sample size you can rather than the smallest.

So, like, we won game 3 because of our defense and our strategy, and we were in games 3-5 for the same reason, holding Harden to historically terrible games. That was because of Rudy.

I agree with this. But I don’t think it’s primarily up to a rim protector to make the difference in the long playoff run. A rim protector’s success can go as far as how good the backcourt D is.

Offensively it was up to how much Mitchell could explode. He could not since he lacked spacing and teams studied and were ready for him more.

With enough spacing, Rudy can perform even better on the offensive end too now. But he will have less chances. Hopefully Mitchell too, so he won’t strain himself so much and work his magic when he thinks it’s appropriate where the threat from Conley and Bogdanovic is a presence to deal with.

He’ll be fine. I’ve always said for him and others too that players that are more than ready athletically hit a sophomore wall instead of a rookie wall which is mental more than physical. Now that he got it out of his system and has a lot more help, it can only get better.

MVP is claiming that consecutive all NBA center Rudy Gobert is something like the 7th best center in the NBA, because he can't get out of the second round of the playoffs or something. The list of players he gives as "better" have rarely even MADE the playoffs.

It's just a precursor of the trash we are going to see once the Jazz bandwagon gets going this year.
