Walker Kessler Should No Longer Play Until KO is Traded

Can we go ahead and find a way to get Kessler on the court 25 minutes a game... trade someone or cut they minutes. I need to see a bigger sample and more dev time here.

I'd like to see the Jazz try to expand his game a little bit. Make a mistake out there, miss a shot. There was a play a game or two ago where he got the ball in transition, probably like 5ish feet from the rim, one defender between him and the basket, and he passed out. He's worshipping a bit too much at the Altar of Efficiency for someone who seems to have decent on-ball coordination.

That is where hopefully struggling over these next few games comes into play and we get our priorities straight. It would be nice to get Kessler a consistent 25 minutes a game and somehow find Ochai and NAW some non garbage minutes every game. I really don't understand the thinking of Hardy benching NAW the last few games after how well he had been playing his prior few games.

We've seen how having just a straight roll man plays out. Start having him bury the mismatch under the rim and catching and finishing. He seems coordinated enough to do that. Also seems to do well being patient and finding the right angle/move when he is close enough to the basket. When catching in the 10 foot ranger or further it didn't go well.

Not big on NAW but its time to sacrifice more minutes in the sake of development time. 10 more minutes to Kessler, 10 more minutes to Simone, 10 minutes to Ochai.

I don't understand the NAW time... would rather see THT get those minutes. More hope in him and maybe he plays well enough to opt out or have some minor trade value.

Yeah, I'm all in on Kessler. He should play 25mpg.

Simone will be 27 in a few days. He is what he is. I think he's headed back to Europe once his deal is up. He can probably make more money there and it doesn't make sense for him to spend his basketball prime playing 9mpg in the NBA.

I have no idea what to think about Ochai. He might be a serviceable rotation player in a few years... but he might also be out of the NBA after his rookie deal.

There is usually an adjustment year even for Euro League guys in their prime... so Simone should be given more time before being dismissed. He's doing one of the hardest things for a bench player... come off the bench in limited minutes and shoot. He's 40% from three and per minute putting up a good rate. I think he's a rotation wing.

Imagine saying this about Joe Ingles... (who also came into the NBA at age 27)

*and for the record, I was saying that about Joe Ingles after his rookie season when it felt like he was just signed to babysit Dante, but I was incredibly wrong. I wouldnt give up on Simone*
