"Give me dat ROTY yabish."

Seriously as much as I want wiggins, randle, parker, HARRISON
It would be so epic if we made the playoffs and if I had to choose between making the playoffs or the #2 pick, then I would chose playoffs.

(sadly I would still take the #1 pick over the playoffs..... sorry everyone)

I have maintained that the team will try to win and is in no way in tank mode. However, there are way to many variables at this point to say they will get there. As has been mentioned, Burke hasn't proven anything, our core four may thrive, or they may break under the pressure, Evans showed some improvement, but will it translate to actual game production? And there are current injuries to talented players and the mental state of Jefferson and Biedrins.

I remember at times watching teams like San Antonio and thinking that they were superhuman in the way they just made complex offensive production look automatic and effortless. We aren't there yet, we are still a gritty team with talent. Will we make the playoffs? It's possible. I hope so. (so many variables tho)

Understandable, but I would actually rather make the playoffs over getting the #1 pick. As much of a slam dunk as everyone thinks Wiggins will be there's really no way to tell until he's on an NBA court dominating. If we end up with a bad enough record to get the #1 pick to me that worries me that maybe a collection of Favors, Kanter, Hayward, Burks, Burke isn't good enough to get it done even with a stud pick in this upcoming draft. That is all assuming they get a lot of PT and limited injuries.

On the flip side I feel if this team is good enough to make the playoffs as we're currently constructed, super young with a terrible bench, then I'd feel extremely confident we could build that team into a contender down the road.

If Utah built a bench to go along with the Core 4 + Trey3 then I think they would have a legit shot at the playoffs. Problem is there are no veteran go to players on this team. If Millsap was re-signed and a solid veteran back-up PG/mentor, this would be a playoff team.

People forget though that Hayward and Favors have experience... they are not rookies. Are they stars? This season we will see.

There is a better chance that Alec Burks will be an all star than there is for Wiggins. Remeber, we have a player right now that had tons of hype and was selected number 2 in the draft only to flame out and become a back up SF who had to take a pay cut by accepting the last year of his contract to guarantee getting paid this year. Marvin Williams. The NBA is full of players who had tons of hype that do nothing. Alec on the other hand has shown potential in games and a willingness to improve his game. Why am I talking about Alec right now? Because if we draft a top five player in this coming draft, the team will not be able to afford everyone, and one of our core players will have to go. This isn't baseball, there is a salary cap.

Dude marvin Williams was never compared to Jordan and Lebron.

Wiggins is a much better prospect than marvin ever was.

I agree that there is almost no chance we can get wiggins though.

The Jazz can't tank well enough to get him. They just don't have it in them. They have this strange honor thing where they can't throw games on purpose, and even though they made moves that seem like they are willing to lose games, they keep trying to win by doing things like motivating Jefferson and Biedrins and signing veterans to mentor the young players. Heck, they even picked up some talented longshots subconciously trying to atone for the draft pick salary dump trade that they made earlier on.

While other teams are able to throw away millions of dollars at overpriced morons and lose horrible numbers of games, enduring booing fans (the few that come) having no integrity for the concept of winning. These teams know how to tank, the Jazz just can't cut it in the tanking department.

Edit:
Dude marvin Williams was never compared to Jordan and Lebron.
No, just ahead of Deron and Paul. Sure, these aren't Jordon, but they were pretty obvious all star players that went after him.

I doubt we make the playoffs but we will be better than people are predicting. ESPN has the Jazz as the third weakest. No way.

34-48

I'm kind of expecting, and hoping, that we have a wizards year like their's last year. Start off "bad" the first half of the season, and then get our chemistry together and start becoming pretty good the 2nd half. That way we get good draft pick, but we also show a lot of improvement!

Somebody compared our team to the 2003 team. It's pretty similar. That team had a few good names, but the rest was unheard of. But that season they proved a lot of people wrong.

no tank you. I will pass

Why? If this team made the playoffs that means that our core has blown up. All that with a horrendous bench. A kick butt free agency class and 31 million coming off the books.

It is certainly a win-win scenario.

if you think that trey3 can bring this team in the playoffs, than you have to stop playing nba2k on rookie level

i tell you guys, if this team will make the playoffs next season, there will be other pg as a starter

trey3 will not be ready for this team and core4 will not wait for him

What's with all this tank hate!!!????? Can't we all just have love in our hearts? *coughtankcough

this season is all about fun no question about it

but next year i don't want to see how burke try to learn to play basketball, he needs at least 3-4 years, while core4 will be ready to rock'n roll

Best case? We make playoffs, I am extremely happy.

Next best? We don't make playoffs, but get 1 or 2 pick.

Worst? No playoffs. Lose lottery. Lose in free agency. Rinse and repeat next year. (Like most teams trying to rebuild. This could be a long few years, boys.)
