What's new

Welcome to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Been to Oklahoma in 2008. Very good memories. Except in airport on the way home they pulled me out of regular line and did extra search. All local cowboys and their ladies were eyeing me like I am some kind of terrorist.

Let me tell you what's the talk of our town:

Donovan Mitchell & Rudy Gobert...

Utah Jazz' impressive run despite injuries since the ASG: Closing out NBA the last 12 games (9-3) impressive and scary since the Thunder haven't played the Jazz since December 2017.

What's the dominant religious affiliation there?

Surprisingly:
60.58% of the people in Oklahoma, State are religious, meaning they affiliate with a religion. 4.90% are Catholic; 1.26% are LDS; 12.26% are another Christian faith; 0.10% in Oklahoma, State are Jewish; 0.41% are an eastern faith; 0.20% affilitates with Islam.

Southern Baptist; however the Roman catholic population is on the rise with the current capital improvements campaign to build a 2,000-seat Basilica & shrine in the Oklahoma City Archdiocese's south side (Heavily Latino populated) area for Rev. Stanley Rother, the first U.S.-born male (Okarche, OK) & U.S. priest named a martyr by the Roman Catholic Church.

One last note on Oklahoma's topography:

Yes, there are 2 nudists camp here.

Do you think that the issue with the Thunder roster is a classic too many ball dominant stars came together, or do you think Russ' attitude causes it?

Had a friend from Tulsa. Coolest guy ever. Addicted to Dr. Pepper and country music. When drunk he could speak for hours about how downtown Tulsa was ruined by the massive expansion of surface parking. He still continues his fight against surface parking (sidenote: we studied urban planning together).

Anyway, thanks for stoping by @Laramie. I've never been to OKC but I'm sure it's a cool place. Having said that, I hope the Jazz crushes OKC tomorrow :D. Jazz in 7!

What is surface parking exactly?

Oklahoma sucks ***.

It has one of the worst education systems (stuff that actually matters) in the nation. It's terrible. Ugly state, boring as hell. People think Utah is boring? Oklahoma is far worse.

BTW, you can drink anywhere.

But yet it doesn’t suck as badly as you.

Carry on, Laramie.

Damn dude, living on the edge. Most people feed newborns breast milk or formula but to each their own I guess.

Lol

I lived in OKC for six years, or more accurately Midwest City, when I was stationed at Tinker AFB…this was pre-Thunder and there was no Chesapeake Arena (coincidentally I can see the real Bay as I type this)…they had started serious development of Bricktown and completed the AAA ballpark—I was there during the bombing (involved in that cleanup) and for the entirety of my slightly less-disastrous first marriage…oh and the neighborhood across the street in Del City was disintegrated by a tornado a couple weeks after I left…I liked OKC the city well enough but overall, not the best of memories…

Go Jazz!!!...

Your avatar is a famous, Oklahoman: Chuck Norris, the 77-year-old actor, screenwriter and martial artist was born in Ryan, Oklahoma on March 10, 1940. He was the star of Walker, Texas Ranger, which premiered in 1993. If your pic is not Chuck Norris, you look a lot like him...
We will beat okc like Bruce Lee did Chuck Norris...

I once interviewed in Tulsa. They took us downtown to a restaurant where I got swordfish. It was unbelievable and I’ve been raving about it nearly 6 years later. Last week I was at Smith’s and saw they were selling swordfish so I bought some. My three hour old loved it. However, it wasn’t nearly as good as what I ate in Tulsa.
You fed your baby swordfish three hours after birth? Based on the time of your post he/she must be about 17 hours old now. What's the diet like?

Do you think that the issue with the Thunder roster is a classic too many ball dominant stars came together, or do you think Russ' attitude causes it?

Combination of both. Westbrook is my favorite Thunder & NBA player; however he can be bullheaded at times.

So appropriate that an angry hate-spewing lunatic like you would insult Oklahoma while using an Oklahoman as your avatar.
