You were talking about the relative supply of quality players in general, no? Do you think the Jazz should move Gordo this summer? Take a look at the list of top PGs v. SGs and SFs; currently, quality point guards are abundant.
Here's a list of quality PGs moved at this season's trade deadline:
Goran Dragic
Brandon Knight
Isaiah Thomas
Reggie Jackson
MCW
How many quality wings have been available this season? Replacing Gordo is more difficult than replacing Favors or Exum.
No, that wasn't my question. I never said wings at the deadline. And just because fewer were traded THIS year doesn't mean they weren't available. It was a very unusual trade deadline and a lot of players were moved, with the big names being the disgruntled PG's. Teams maneuvered for PG's, largely led by Phoenix (three of those five on your list traded from/to Phoenix).
Assume Gordon or Trey were FA's and one was to leave. Name the FA PG's who would legitimately be available to the Jazz this summer. IINM, all of those players on your list are either under contract or are RFA's, the exception being Dragic, who has a player option. The available UNRESTRICTED pool is very shallow, with Lin, Barea and Brooks being the best.
However, there are several wings who are UFA's such as Carroll, Matthews (well, the injury NOW plays into that, of course), Danny Green, Bellinelli, McDaniels, Babbitt, Gee, etc. I'm not arguing ANY of those players are at the level of Hayward. They aren't. But if Exum, Favors, Gobert and Hayward were all playing at fringe all-star level, replacing Hayward's contribution would be the easiest, probably followed bv Favors.
Finding impact 5's and 1's is much harder than finding wings.
