Who wants to pull the stats? Our eyes cannot lie to us can they?

Holy moly (moley? mole?).

Before someone comes in and ****s on these stats, I'll reiterate that I understand that these statistics do not take into account other teammates or opposing players.

Further, these stats do not correct for uneven possessions. That is, some of these combos have an extra offensive possession more frequently than they have an extra defensive possession when they play together. For combinations with low minutes, and especially for combinations with low minutes per game played together and low minutes overall, this could be a significant problem.

The stats from the Al/Sap thread are much more reliable (similar roles/teammates/opponents, 3 year sample).

I was just about to come in and say people were drawing conclusions without taking everything into consideration. You have to conisder that when Al Jefferson is on the floor, the other team's starters are on the floor. The Jazz's bench is a lot better than most benches in the NBA, obviously the +/- stats are going to favor the times when Al Jefferson is out. If you brought him off the bench the numbers would be different. I don't think Al Jefferson is the principle contributing factor.

If you really wanted to do this right, you would take a few different 3 and 4 player lineups, and see how they do with Al +/or Foye and without. although it still does not account for the opposition, whihc is a big importnat variable.
