Who will replace Biden?

Because I've seen the system in action. The "emergency" changes in 2020 many states made to their voting systems using the pandemic as the claimed motivation were modeled on California Assembly Bill No. 1921 and California Voter’s Choice Act, both passed into law in 2016. In the very next election, in 2018, Orange County lost every single seat to Democrats. Orange County leans super-right and the republican incumbents were leading in the polls on the day of the election. The political landscape after Assembly Bill No. 1921 and California Voter’s Choice Act is almost unrecognizable to what was before it was put into place.

Not all states adopted these changes, but enough did that I don't see how a Republican can win even if they have a 10-point lead in the opinion polls, and because these changes are enshrined in law, it isn't fraud, it is simply the way the system works now. The US Constitution goes so far as to explicitly grant the states the power to do what they did so challenging it in court is pointless. It is just the way it is.

I think Harris would be the worst candidate of any of the top names. People just don't gravitate to her. I was interested in her during the 2020 primaries but she was a letdown. Nothing since has changed my mind. She was chosen by Biden for VP because she's a woman and black and that's about it. Democrats can't be trusted to make the choice, they should look at the polls.

That would be a hard no. I would rather see a DNC candidate win every presidential election than for democracy to have any more power than it does now in our republic. I really don't care who sits in the oval office so long as the provisions in the US Constitution are respected.

I'm livid at the Biden apologists making excuses for him. I watched the PBS Newshour tonight and it made me want to puke how the pundits stood up for Joe. When 72% of Americans think Joe will be unable to fulfill his duties as President you should fight for one of the several viable candidates and replace him. The one press chick from the Boston Globe said something to the effect of, "a few bad sentences during the debate shouldn't determine whether Joe should run". WTF?

Both sides in a US Presidential election will spend in excess of $1 BILLION dollars each to get their candidate in office. Pundits don't repeat the same talking points because they all think identically. They all get the same script that comes with their payment.

Power is a strong narcotic. And it's not him as much as his family is my bet. They don't want to give up the position of privilege. And there is something to be said about a sitting president. Knee-jerk reactions typically fade and by the time the election comes around he might really be the best option to win since largely people are creatures of habit. Odds are by the time the day actually arrives people will just vote the way they would have anyway.

I was never warm to her either. It’s the time constraints that make it difficult to not have her as the front runner. If she’s not interested, that’s something else, but I can’t imagine she’d pass. I guess you could have a wide open convention. I vaguely remember some from my youth. Must see TV, a wide open convention, lol. Again, seeing a Biden ticket collapsing in front of our eyes is bad enough. Democrats need to tamp down impression that they are in a chaotic free fall. I understand the concern with Harris as the candidate, but I do at least want to believe, despite her unpopularity among many, that the appearance of a much younger candidate, with a pulse, and good impression campaigning, can still do it.

Of course, Harris or another good candidate may fail miserably. I just like the idea, with a few years already of dreading another Trump vs. Biden, of the sudden relief and opportunity that a better ticket would present. Whichever party nominates someone different, wins the election. Could be off with that idea, but I think it has merit. Since none of the potential candidates in the poll I posted are campaigning, their closeness to Trump already, should be seen as their floor, not their ceiling. But, I understand Harris might be the last person imaginable to pull it off. We’re just not going to move fwd without Biden, at all, without accommodating Harris.

And after his ABC interview last night, Biden is delusional and in denial. He’ll bring the whole party down. All along, he claims he’s running to prevent Trump harming America, destroying democracy. Last night he said, if he lost, well, “I gave it my best shot”. Say what?? He’s got to go.

I have been on this forum for three years showing his mental decline asking you guys to worry about yourselves rather than Trump.
