What's new

You're the GM this offseason. What do you do?

I think the front office is confident that Royce can be a pretty good starter when Exum is ded again. Hopefully they sign Caruso, because he’s definitely someone who could be a hidden gem when Exum dies again

What is this Jazz Free Agency Mini Camp he speaks of?

Czech big man Ondrej Balvin joined Utah Jazz mini-camp that started today, a source told Sportando.
Balvin spent the season with Gran Canaria

I like it... it'd be tough for DL to say "Caruso is our next starting pg" and not be subject to criticism... but you bring him in knowing he is the guy... then look like a genius when he takes over.

I will say it again... it will be hard for me to be disappointed in any offseason that includes us getting Caruso.

Yep.

I’d honestly be down for Bev, Caruso, another stretch 4, maybe Jamychael?

I know it’s not sexy and I know we need another stud supposedly but our shooting and depth would be kickass then so I’m not so sure we couldn’t win 56-60 games if we gelled.

Bev-Caruso-Ded
Mitchell-Allen
Ingles-O’Neale
Crowder-Green
Gobert-Green

Maybe draft Windler in that 3/4 role.

Bev, Caruso, Green, Windler is adding crazy shooting.

Bev, Caruso and Green is adding great toughness, scrappiness

Every player on the team can now shoot the 3 except Gobert and Ded. Rubio and Favors are gone.

Bev and Caruso and Green are switchable.

Seriously who would be upset with Bev and Caruso? That would be sweet as ****.

I’m not sure who that would leave for us at the 4. Green came to mind. But I’d prefer Bobby Portis who I think has massive upside.

I'm not a big believer in Russell. I think Conley is really good. I also don't think we will get Russell. He'd have to be unrestricted, so we are hoping Brooklyn gets two max free agents? Yeah that ain't likely... I'd say its more likely that we get Tobias than Brooklyn getting two max guys.

So if you give me a do-over right now I take Conley 12 times out of 10... maybe even 13.

This is exactly the sentiment I just don't get. If we had a chance to get Russell, we should take it 100% over Conley. Why?

- Russell, even at a max, would make at least $5 million less per year the next two years than Conley
- Conley costs us more than just contract. So it would be Russell PLUS at least one 1st rounder vs just Conley
- Age - Russell is 9 years younger than Conley. That's a pretty big deal.
- Russell and Donovan are close. Conley's own people said he didn't want Utah. If we trade for Conley, he doesn't have a choice and might be unhappy. If Russell signs here, it means he wants to be here.

Is Conley slightly better than Russell right now? Sure, I'll give you that. It's marginal, but whatever. But if we got Russell, every single Utah Jazz fan should celebrate. There should be no naysayers. There should be zero negativity. Signing D'Angelo Russell would be the most impressive free agent signing in the history of the franchise.
