You could sign Favors with cap space, which you could argue that he’d rebuff the offer after being shown he’s not a priority, but then you could also say that no other team is offering Favors their cap space.
I still fail to see many teams willing to give Favors more than the MLE on a long term deal. He might get one of those crazy KCP or Redick one year overpay deals, but nothing that's much more than the MLE over the long term.
If we waive him and try to sign him for a 3 year guaranteed deal making more than the MLE, I think he stays.
