What's new

You're the GM this offseason. What do you do?

I cannot believe that Sean Marks would be stupid enough to make a Billy King-esque mistake after doing such a good job rebuilding that team. But I sure as he'll hope that he is and we can benefit from it.

Brooklyn needs to be able to show they can get a big name free agent. They aren't just competing in the league, they are competing for their town. If the Knicks get KD, they might start shuffling off to local irrelevancy. Their dynamics and OUR dynamics are entirely different.

I don't want to get too excited too soon. But I believe this rumor has to have some truth to it. We had KD move his company hq to NYC a month or two back. There's a general feeling amongst basketball fans and insiders that KD is out of GS this summer. Now we have Kyrie seen in Brooklyn with a huge grin and the rumor that he's signing with Brooklyn (or wants too). Would Kyrie really want to sign in Brooklyn if it was just going to be him and D'Lo? Or is it a sign that he knows a bigger name like KD is on board to sign too? If the rumor is indeed true then I would assume that the latter is the case. Wasn't there a rumor during the all star break of KD and Kyrie spending a ton of time together too? Maybe I'm remembering incorrectly on that. Could have been a different pair.

So if KD and Kyrie end up in Brooklyn then we'd be the first choice for Tobias IF Andy Larsen is correct. I still think that he could stay in Philly. Hell another team might even swoop in and make a pitch he loves. I'll take increased odds though no doubt. Please for the love of churro let us land one of the bigger names this summer.

Yep indeed, Tobias apparently ain't feeling the Philly vibe no more
Which is weird. Tobias and Boban are really close. Boban said in an interview in the last 24 hours that he is 90% likely to re-sign with Philly because he had such an amazing experience after getting traded from LA. But Tobias has a bad feeling. Just weird.

If we get Tobias to sign Donovan will be running the point.

C: Gobert
PF: Tobias
SF: Ingles
SG: probably Rolls Royce
PG: Spida

I'm trying not to get my hopes up because it probably won't happen...but that would be one hell of a lineup.

It might just be my opinion but Tobias never looked comfortable in Philadelphia

Boban needs to worry about his next contract. He doesn’t have the luxury of sending anything other than good vibes to any franchise, especially Philly.

Our only hope is that our FO has been locked in on Tobias for years, and has a great pitch ready to go.

We’ve been hearing about his free agency year for awhile now, Mitchell was whispering sweet nothings, and every name local or national has mentioned Utah being very interested in him on podcasts and in tweets for over a year. So there’s evidence.

Sit his *** down, show him clip after clip of what the 4 can do in our offense. Show him the screens and motion, let him imagine what he’d be able to do. Show him what it’s like to play defense with Gobert behind you. And endless Mitchell highlights.

Tell him about all the 60 win seasons he’d be signing on for as the missing piece. Show him how much everyone loves playing on this team, and how much the players like the city.

Would remind me of Dwight Howard to the Rockets years and years ago. Rumblings for years, they pushed all their chips in for the dude they wanted and got him. Though pray to god this one would work out better of course.

Any chance of signing Harris and trading for Dinwiddie?

I want to see a starting line up of Gobert, Harris, Ingles, Mitchell, Dinwiddie

Tobias at a max is $32.7 million.

Dinwiddie makes $10.6.

Korver represents $3.44.

Without Korver, we have around $39 million in space. So...

Tobias $32.7 + Dinwiddie $10.6 - Korver $3.44 = $39.86.

Its really close. Maybe we could renounce Niang and it fits. Or we send Grayson or Bradley.
