What's new

You're the GM this offseason. What do you do?

I know some people were under the impression that Favors was part of the Conley deal and that's part of the reason why the Jazz turned it down.

He's only making $1.6 million, he has had an entire year learning the system, he plays hard, seems well liked and he can shoot. Unless his contract gets in the way of signing some max free agent type, I don't see why we would let Niang walk.

I give you that, though I think the draft is weak and we may trade our pick. I think we can find a better talent via the draft or free agency.

I really think that any summer plan is going to include Favors.

If we supposedly also weren’t giving up Exum, how the hell were we getting enough salary in that deal?

True. I just feel that if we let Rubio, Thabo and Udoh walk, we will still need to fill the roster with capable, cheap players. With a salary so low, it's pretty low risk/potential high reward to keep him around for next season.

I guess it would've worked with Rubio, Thabo, Udoh and maybe Neto and Bradley? I'm not really sure.

If we would have gotten Conley for Rubio ($14.8), Thabo ($5.25), Udoh ($3.36), Bradley ($1.7) and a 1st rounder, that would have been one of the most amazing trades in Jazz history. We literally would have traded spare parts, Rubio and a very late first for a very good PG.

But now I know why Memphis didn't do it...

*Two first rounders.

Who are you referring to Rubio or all of them ? Rubio is heart broken I doubt he comes back. But I fear he does since he is the only pg we can convince to play here.

I still think it was a big mistake to refuse to include Exum in the deal. It's going to look especially bad if we aren't able to add a player as good as Conley this summer.
