What's new

You're the GM this offseason. What do you do?

Because I think a more "sexy" team will get Gibson for the MLE and the Jazz would probably have to overpay to get him. I don't think that's the case with Kaminsky though. He may sign for more money but I don't think the Jazz would have to overpay to get him.
Taj has never been a "sexy" player though, he's always on hard working blue collar type teams like all of the Thibedeau teams. I think Snyder has a lot of Thibs' good traits without Thibs' insanely bad traits, and I don't think Taj decides to go to LA to play in Hollywood with LeBron when he could play for a hard working team like Utah instead.

I'd be a bit worried about Brooklyn snagging him since he's from the area but that's the only "sexy" team I'd be worried about for Taj, because historically he hasn't been that type of guy. Jazz wouldn't have to overpay for Frank the Tank because if he signs for more money then the Jazz can't afford him which is why I'm wondering why he's more realistic than Taj.
Taj got some grit and Jazz tangibles
Yeah I think so too, and he's a hand in glove fit with the holes we have at PF and backup C. He also does a lot of things that Favors does too, and he's actually a slightly better shooter than Favs at the expense of being a worse finisher at the rim.

It has nothing to do with the knee.

All I'm saying is that a fair portion of fans were good with not sacrificing Exum to get Conley at the time (I'll necromance the thread if necessary). I think the knee being "disguised" by the ankle was the last draw for him with most fans.

I’m not sure how other fans overvaluing him at the time changes my comments.

What's the market for Favors? and if we renounce him are we able to re-sign him? Im a fan of having my cake and eating it too
It's slightly possible, but not likely.

a) I don't think Favors will clear the waiver wire if/when the Jazz release him, but he might. I view that as 50-50.*
b) If he clears waivers I don't think the Jazz will want to re-sign him for what he would want (because the reason they would be releasing him is so that they can sign someone using that cap space that they feel is a better fit for the team).

*Also, if the Jazz learn of two or more teams that have interest in signing Favors on the waiver wire, then why wouldn't the Jazz try to trade Favors to one of the teams? That way the Jazz would get back an asset. And that way there's no possibility of Favors re-signing with the Jazz until a year from now at the earliest.
