Ricky Rubio

Usage rate isn't time with ball in hand. If you want that look at touch stats on nba.com

Rubio was 13th in the entire NBA in touches last season at 83.6 per game. The top player in the NBA was Westbrook at 99.2. George Hill was 74.7.

Rubio also held the ball longer per touch(5.4 sec) than Westbrook and his average time of possession per game was the 6th highest in the NBA, just below Lillard but more than CP3.

Rubio dominated the ball for his team. I dont think that is a great fit for the Jazz.

Rubio was also one of the lowest in the league among point guards for points per touch at .133 compared to Hill at .227.

Patrick Beverly is at 49.7 touches per game and 3.59 average sec per touch.

That's great stuff... I don't like ball stickiness even if it leads to assists and no chucking. Bev>>Rubio and I might be out on Rubio based on this. I love his defense and certainly think he could adjust.

I think salary wise and fit wise that Beverly is the best option. I am just not convinced Houston trades him before free agency unless they get off of Anderson's money too. I think if we sent the OKC pick for Beverly they could send that pick with Anderson to Sac and they would absorb the contract... can't be done until after July 1 doe.

I am just not sure we should address PG position before July 1... we should look at power wing/power forward though and if a PG steal falls in our lap go for it.

Show me any metric that shows Hill is significantly better at defense than Teague in any area.

Defensive metrics are very flawed, but ok.

Hill and Teague have respectively played 600 and 599 games, essentially the same amount.

Hill has 22.1 DWS, Teague has 17.7

Hill has a career DBPM average of 0.4, Teague has a career average of -0.8. That means Hill rates as above average, and Teague as below average.

Hill has a career VORP of 18, Teague has a career VORP of 8.8.

Finally, Utah gave up more points/100 when Hill was on the bench, Indy gave up more points/100 when Teague was on the court.

In a game where every difference matters, I would call that significant.

I mean, yeah. Tell'm.

Tired of not hearing any reports of acquiring Love but keep hearing we're looking into Ricky ******* Rubio. I can only hope it's smoke.

If Bev came and Hayward left we'd still be entertaining. I'd probably do okc pick for Beverly regardless of if Hayward comes or goes.

Ricky Rubio post all-star break w/ no Zach LaVine:

15.9 PPG
10.5 APG
4.6 RPG
1.5 SPG

42% from field
35.3% from 3
91.7% from free-throw

He has played on a horrible team his whole career. Can you imagine what he'd do playing with Hayward and Gobert under Snyder?

Be worse? His teams might have sucked, but they have always had a lot of offensive talent on the Wolves. Rubio went from playing with Kevin Love to KAT.

I dont care how bad your team/franchise is, if you shoot (significantly) below 40% 5/6 of your NBA seasons, it's on you.
