STAYWARD

Reasons I'm excited to see Hayward come back to Utah:

01.) He's a damn good basketball player and one of the Jazz franchise guys.

02.) He makes his teammates better.

03.) Utah is building something special.

04.) The resulting meltdowns in Miami and Boston when he spurns them and stays with this small market team. . . priceless.

I'm either wearing my Jazz hat on the train in Boston on Wednesday or working from home and crying.

I feel like the Jazz are still one player away right now.

I agree. Where do they find that player? Not super confident that he's already on the roster tbh. Maybe Mitchell. They have a bunch of assets that lose value after this season. I'm hoping they make a big move at some point. Something probably not on the radar at the moment.

We knew that with the upcoming paydays that Hood or Exum would have to be that guy, but it hasn't happened unfortunately. Maybe the Donovan Mitchell hype train revs into high gear tomorrow.

I would be pretty happy with another trade for a good player.

But I also think we will take a huge step with our own roster.

Exum is going to be greatly improved. If we see an improved version of what Exum was in flashes the second half of the season and playoffs then we have a special player on or hands.

If we get 2015 Favor's or an improved version of that we are really set. He was phenomenal before getting hurt. He was on track to be our all star as probably would have been that season if he played in the East.

If we get a healthy consistent Hood then we will be greatly improved.

If Rubio stays healthy then that is a big upgrade over last season where Hill missed a lot of games and was hobbled in the playoffs.

We still haven't got to see a healthy Gobert in the playoffs.

I think they need a dynamic, athletic, multi-skilled 6'9" or 6'10" PF, like if Aaron Gordon panned out.

Trade or draft/internal development.
