Lakers Trade Idea

I don't have time to address point by point how wrong this post is, so just know that you're wrong about huge portions (make Gobert fit in with the team? What the **** are you talking about? Fit is fit, and they've been trying to figure how to make Gobert fit since before they traded Kanter. GOBERT IS ALSO UNDER CONTRACT AND FAVORS ISN'T, AT THE END OF THE DAY, IT'S UP TO FAVORS IF HE CHOOSES TO STAY).

Good players find ways to work together and fit together and that takes time. The fact is Gobert and Favors have played very well together at times over their careers and can.

It is Favors choice to stay. I suspect he wants to stay and likes it here. I have neither heard nor seen any indication otherwise. But again this is just my guess which is as good as anyones guess who isnt Favors or someone close to him. I hope the FO has a good feel for it and are in good communication with him. Haywards situation didnt go well but that doesnt mean we cant get this one right.

You got absolutely dominated in this thread, bro. I haven't seen somebody around here take an L like this in a long time.

Get well soon.
Says the guy who never has ideas, only takes shots.

Weren't you the same guy who said "Hayward would never leave. Favors is awesome. We are building something great. Don't break it up..."

You're just another troll with no balls.

I'm sorry, man but everything he has said and not said points to him being unhappy and wanting to leave, imo. Go back and listen to Locke's interview in training camp and there was a really awkward moment where he brought it up in passing. He and Gobert also don't fit really well together. They can make it work, but it isn't ideal, and to really make it work Favs needs to be the secondary player. I'm sure he isn't happy with that, but as we saw last night he simply can't provide the rim protection to be the 5, and Rudy is a better PnR player overall with anyone other than Rubio running the action.

The Jazz need to stop mismatching pieces and need to build a coherent team around Gobert. HE can be devastating offensively as well as defensively if he has the right pieces around him. I'm willing to give DL a pass for this year because they were still trying to keep Haywood, but now the team needs decisive action without worrying about feeling (other than for stars) If we don't build around Rudy immediately he will also leave in a couple years. Everything should be geared toward making his skillset shine and work. The great thing about that is that building around his strengths is an insanely efficient way to run an offense, and Mitchell, Exum, Ingles all fit or could fit well. They need to bring in a stretch 4 who can defend, and a couple more guys who can create and are good in PnR. I personally don't think Rubio will ever fit well, and I'll be livid if the JAzz keep sacrificing Rudy's ability to impact games for Rubio if things don't get dramatically better.

Favors is 90% gone. Rubio is expendable with Mitchell. We just need a third player of or near he and Rudy's caliber. With Jingles and whoever else sticks around we'll be good.

I know he doesn't start there, but I've been under the impression that he plays minutes there. I'll do some more research.

I can't remember any lineup without a Kuzma, Randle or Nance but I haven't seen all their games.

Just looked it up, and it looks like there's a few lineups that don’t have a traditional power forward and Ingram could be playing the 4 spot.

L.Ball, K.Caldwell-Pope, J.Clarkson, B.Ingram, B.Lopez - 3 games / 7 minutes - Offensive Rating (128.7) - Defensive Rating (79.7) - Net Rating (+49.1)

L.Ball, K.Caldwell-Pope, J.Clarkson, B.Ingram, J.Randle - 3 games / 5 minutes - Offensive Rating (88.1) - Defensive Rating (101.1) - Net Rating (-13.0)

C.Brewer, K.Caldwell-Pope, J.Clarkson, B.Ingram, J.Randle - 2 games / 4 minutes - Offensive Rating (61.5) - Defensive Rating (111.1) - Net Rating (-49.6)

L.Ball, K.Caldwell-Pope, J.Clarkson, B.Ingram, K.Kuzma - 1 game / 3 minutes - Offensive Rating (34.0) - Defensive Rating (66.7) - Net Rating (-32.7)

A.Bogut, C.Brewer, J.Clarkson, J.Hart, B.Ingram - Offensive Rating (0.0) - Defensive Rating (116-7) - Net Rating (-116.7)

So. . . small sample size at having him as a “4” and it looks like they play better with Lopez in the lineup at C instead of Randle, Kuzma or Bogut. Not sure I’d read too much into that.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...-should-give-luol-deng-an-extension-seriously

The Lakers can give Deng a 3 year extension this year, make none of it guaranteed, then use the stretch provision. This would allow Deng to go to any team he wants and get paid again, overall making more money, just over a longer period of time. So yeah, they probably arent that hype on giving away Kuzma or Ingram. Don't think it's happening.
