Why would they trade Neto when he is currently 1 of 2 healthy PG's on the roster?I like Neto too. A lot. But he is kind of obsolete for this team. If we can get something decent then we should trade him.
I’m pretty sure no one would offer anything decent though so we will keep him.
Why not? Third-string PG is immaterial. You really think getting a 2nd round pick is important? I'll bet you can buy a 2nd rd pick for ~$1M if you really need to. Stars are consulted all the time about free agent moves and trades. Deron Williams was asked about players. Gordon Hayward vetoed a minor trade according to Dennis Lindsey (he mentioned it was a vet for a young player). Rudy and Raul are close friends and, trading Neto isn't going to bring in a major rotation player.I hope the jazz aren't making decision based off if it will upset Rudy.

If you trade or cut someone you can’t resign them in that same year. They define year by start of first game and when you are out of playoffs or season has ended. That makes it curious if we traded Thabo or JJ during the draft and the team waived them, we could just resign them based on vague language. Why not? Third-string PG is immaterial. If Neto is traded, he can't be re-signed as a FA, IINM, for at least 1 year. Raul probably signs for less than market value due to his allegiance to Gobert. He'd be a great keep at ~$3M. He won't be traded unless a team insists as part of a larger deal.
Disagree. We'll be going for playoffs no matter what happens against NOLA. We'll still look to move Burks and Johnson, most likely, and I'm guessing they're looking for good value for Hood, but I don't think anything significant happens.I would put the entire trade deadline on Monday night's game at New Orleans. If we win, we're 3 games under .500 and just beat the 7 seed who we are 3 games behind. If we lose the game, we are 5 games under .500 with 29 games left and 5 games behind the 7 seed.
If we win, I think we should maybe do a minor deal like trade Burks, Joe Johnson or maybe Neto. We could make the argument that we need continuity since we have a 6 game win streak and Exum close to returning. If we lose, we should be aggressive with any opportunity. Keeping everything intact trying to make up a 5 game deficit to be anything better than the 8 seed is just ludicrous. Get assets for expirings. Be opportunistic.
I know they won't look at it like that, but if we are debating a trade with this guy or a trade with that guy, use the Monday night game as the tiebreaker.

It's wild, but teams dont trade every expiring contract every year.
Yah if you want to play a shorter rotation, which the Jazz dont want to yet.I said in my post that I don’t think that they will.
Just that if they did it wouldn’t be a big deal. He is very replaceable. Especially when X comes back. Btw, I think that spida can play point guard too (and he does).
Favors and Rubio are not going anywhere now. They've both proved vital in our current win streak. Hood, Burks and JJ are all still a good chance at being moved though.
We should have gone after Bender when he was riding the pine.
What is Hood’s value?
Read an article where the Philly writer suggested a 1st round pick, Richuan Holmes, and either TLC or Korkmaz.
I’d have no interest in Holmes, but I’d consider it for the 1st round pick, TLC and Jonah Bolden. Would something like that be a good enough deal?
I’m assuming that the Jazz would be concerned about paying Hood next year.
They’d essentially be trading paying $15 million + to Hood by adding three guys for under $7 million. If one of those guys breaks out then it’s a good trade, right?
Not necessarily advocating that, but I found it interesting. Think it’s more interesting since O’Neale looks like he can hold down the 6th man role if needed.
I hear Bolden is almost untouchable. They arent trading him. What is Hood’s value?

Hadn’t heard that. So, then sub Bolden with either Korkmaz or the rights to Anzejs Pasechniks. Would that be palatable? Would it be enough for both sides to consider it?I hear Bolden is almost untouchable. They arent trading him.
