What's new

Dante has been out forever because he ded

We have a back to back so perhaps they don't wanna push him. I've got a good feeling he'll play against Dallas.

That might be the case... they didn’t say when or if he’d be evaluated again. Dallas is a softer landing for a return game.

I hope so. I will be at the Dallas game.

Maybe they think okc is a loss anyway. I hope they don't think that was though

7 weeks for a sprained ankle. Why was the Jazz report starting at 2 weeks then to be re evaluated in 1 week? Either the Jazz have a ton of unwarranted optimism or a mediocre training staff.
I didn't want Conley. However at this point, trading Exum shouldnt be a hold up over any future trade.

I like your attitude Fish. You're not the biggest Dante supporter by any stretch, but you understand that it is big to have your guys back from injury.

Let's hope he comes back for Dallas.
Ya having Dante is much better than not having him.
Plus I think him making a big leap is the best chance the jazz have at really contending. I'm doubtful, yet hopeful.

And fwiw as much as I hate on Exum I think he should start. That's as much due to how I feel about Rubio as it is how I feel about X. I just figure since X is under contract and such a young enigma I would like to see him start.

After Saturday's game we don't play again until Wednesday, I wouldn't be surprised if he waits until then to come back.
Hell after that we got only 23 games, might as well bag the season and come in fresh like a bubble wrapped boy in October.

A severely sprained ankle can take months to heal sometimes. I had one once that took almost 4 months. And even then, it didn’t heal right. So much of it depends on where the sprain was.
I'm guessing you didn't have a paid medical staff taking care of you and monitoring you round the clock though.

Let's be real. Most of us here want our guys back from injury as soon as possible, Dante included.
Some of us just get a little jaded with the little information and long timetables for seemingly small injuries from what we could see.

None of us are happy with injuries, and all of us wish each player would turn into the MVP and win us a championship.

We can still be fans, and see the reality of things.
Here is Dante's reality.

Out of 385 possible regular season games he has played in 201 of them which is 52%.
In the games he has played he has been good for 19.5 mpg, 6ppg, 2.3apg 1.8rpg and 40%fg and 30%3pt with flashes of really good play mostly on the defensive side of the ball.
His minutes have gone down every year he has played.
Of the last 4 years, 66 games was the most games he has played in and that was 16-17.
He has started 1 game in the last 2 years.

I could add more, but I don't feel it's necessary.
He could be good if he got healthy, but his -1.1 vorp doesn't tell us that.
He does have a 3.3 defensive win shares.

How can anyone really, truly think we should start a guy that we can't even keep on the floor? How would giving the starting role to someone who hasn't been healthy enough to step on the court be a good thing for team chemistry or success?

/rant
All this being said, I like Dante, and hope he can stay healthy and prove those flashes of play are true indicators of the future.

so sick of this. I’ve always been a believer. but this is frustrating
