I like your attitude Fish. You're not the biggest Dante supporter by any stretch, but you understand that it is big to have your guys back from injury.
Let's hope he comes back for Dallas.
Let's be real. Most of us here want our guys back from injury as soon as possible, Dante included.
Some of us just get a little jaded with the little information and long timetables for seemingly small injuries from what we could see.
None of us are happy with injuries, and all of us wish each player would turn into the MVP and win us a championship.
We can still be fans, and see the reality of things.
Here is Dante's reality.
Out of 385 possible regular season games he has played in 201 of them which is 52%.
In the games he has played he has been good for 19.5 mpg, 6ppg, 2.3apg 1.8rpg and 40%fg and 30%3pt with flashes of really good play mostly on the defensive side of the ball.
His minutes have gone down every year he has played.
Of the last 4 years, 66 games was the most games he has played in and that was 16-17.
He has started 1 game in the last 2 years.
I could add more, but I don't feel it's necessary.
He could be good if he got healthy, but his -1.1 vorp doesn't tell us that.
He does have a 3.3 defensive win shares.
How can anyone really, truly think we should start a guy that we can't even keep on the floor? How would giving the starting role to someone who hasn't been healthy enough to step on the court be a good thing for team chemistry or success?

All this being said, I like Dante, and hope he can stay healthy and prove those flashes of play are true indicators of the future.
