Man kills 4 in stabbing spree.

Im not sure what color he is at this point. Which is really important. Im assuming white.

I have heard that inside of 21ft (not sure what that is in commie units) a person with a knife can fatally wound a person with a gun before the person with the gun can draw and fire.

Correct, coppers are taught 10 meters I believe. After their experiences in Afghanistan US special forces operators altered their training to learn more knife self defence.

Dark house, which you are familiar with, with a decent knife, you shouldn't need a firearm.

And a long gun, like an AR-15 is just plain old not good in a house, for like a bunch of reasons. The time it takes to swing the muzzle onto target being a big one. The over-penetration of the round (that can travel through walls and kill innocent people, like your wife and kids) being another big one.

Guns are overrated. But the reality is that there are certain situations where they have no substitute.

Too soon... And it will always probably be too soon, because we're probably gonna have a mass shooting once or twice a month in the U.S.. AMERICA!!!!!!!!!

Not to get too nerdy, but that puts the mass out there even further and makes it much harder to swing the muzzle on target. It also makes it much harder to navigate corners without either raising the muzzle towards the ceiling or advertising your position and loosing every possible advantage.

AR-15s actually suck, hard, in a lot of really important ways.

****, the gun I'd want would be a .357 revolver. All day every day. I'd even take the longer barrel length version, up to about 7".

I would take a loaded handgun with one in the chamber over a knife though

I will take the gun to defend myself against a guy with a knife over defending myself with a knife against a guy with knife.

You can't be serious with this idiotic argument its better to defend yourself with a knife.

If you both have knifes its most likely you are gonna get stabbed regardless. Even if you get him.

Also, its more likely that the guy with the knife is going to be scared and run away if he sees you have a gun. If he see you have a knife he just has to believe he is better with the knife. Its also harder to see. Maybe he doesnt even notice you have a knife. Im assuming you would pick the smallest knife possible since it would be easy to swing around and pull out.

Again, Im not a gun advocate. Never owned one. But you are attempting to make a really dumb argument. This thread is also just to point out that there is a valid argument when it comes to using a gun as self defense. As you can see people are more than willing to kill you with whatever they can get there hands on. So kocking the idea of guns being legal is a disingenuous illogical argument. To be a fair and rational person that isnt politically biased(which you are, and you dent it) you would be able to see the argument both ways and understand why its not an easy to decision to just BAN GUNS!!! Cause other countries do it too.

Another really bad argument you gun haters make is pointing out gun deaths but neglect to point out the actual murder rate per capital. The US actually ranks 111. Which would suggest that guns do in fact keep people safe.
