2020 Presidential election

And, uh, umm.

She's not a great story teller by any means.
So I have never seen or heard her speak a single word, ever.
I'm 100% unbiased. Gonna watch the video and give my opinion. Will edit this post after watching it.

So I thought the first half of the video was quite rough. Too many "uh's" and "um's" and was going off track a bit.
But I felt like she did a great job on the second half. I liked her body language throughout. She seems like a nice and likeable person if I'm simply basing it off that 2 minute talk. I got the feeling she was sincere and authentic. Not acting for the crowd.

Interestingly, I don't think you could possibly find 2 minutes of video of trump talking, even with all the tv time he has had in his life, where I would find him to seem to be nice or likeable.

Just for a little background info, Warren is primarily responsible for creating the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and her political career has centered around fighting bad banking practices.

Ah, that makes what she was talking about make more sense. Thanks

Yeah, I didn't mean she doesn't seem nice or likable. She just struggled with her story.

Ha! I totally missed that that's what Archie's criticism was. I guess I pretty much just tune "ums" and "uhs" out when people talk, so I don't usually notice that stuff, if anything it makes the speaker seem a little more authentic and less robotic.

There were a lot of and, uh, uhms in that clip, but she speaks passionately about things that are more personal to her and is a pretty good public speaker. She might be the kind of person who isn't good at telling stories, but she's really good at explaining ideas.

Good interview with Bernie

I honestly didn't watch this one because the freedomtoons have been pretty garbage. But I'll be happy to see that sort of propaganda aimed mostly at Bernie and Biden, because neither will be the nominee.

Why is there a survey on JF asking if Trump can beat Beto O’Rourke in the 2020 elections? Is that who they’re pushing?

This is legitimately one of the funniest tweets Trump has put together yet.

Does he really think anyone buys this incredibly frail attempt at driving a wedge between the squad?

This is like some hack reality TV writing.

Sounds like a strategy I've seen employed before. Around 2007, maybe?

Nahhhh

It’s 2019 man. The stock market is too big to fail...

And when the roof caves in, President Warren will have to spend her entire first term cleaning up the mess while the GOP returns to its “Monday Morning Quarterback” role by critiquing everything she proposes.

Trump’s popularity among republicans and Russian bots isn’t in doubt.

But no credible pollster would base any chances of re-election on one’s number of twitter followers. Far too simplistic. Even if it were, it would still be too simplistic; the presidential election isn’t based on the popular vote.
Are there any credible pollsters? Are any polls credible?

It use to be that pollsters relied upon statistical sampling via phone interviews. 20 years ago, the sampling method included a minor error because it ignored homes without phones.

Today, I suspect the vast majority of homes do not have landlines. Of course, virtually everyone -- including children -- have cell phones. But how many adults answer calls from an unknown caller and, if they did, would respond to a political survey? It seems to me that only folks who want to give their opinion are being sampled, and that group is not representative of the voting public.

The only polling method that makes any sense to me is to return to physically knocking on doors and asking the head of the house his or her opinion. Until that happens, I won't be taking any poll seriously.

Yes, There are credible pollsters. Methods are used to take into account the difference between landlines and cellphones.

The “pollsters blew it so polls are now outdated” nonsense from 2016 has been refuted as nauseam. Just google any of the hundreds of rebuttals from 538, the wash post, or NY Times.

Good post.
I literally never answer my phone if nothing shows on my caller ID. If you call me and I don't know you and you want me to talk to you then you better leave a message.
Also, if I did happen to answer a call and it turns out it was for some political survey then I would immediately hang up.

Do you answer your phone if the caller is unknown? I don't because of robocalls -- if they leave a message I may return the call. I doubt that my response is limited to an insignificant portion of the voting public.
