Coronavirus

Lol

where there you have it.

And how many Trumpers were going to the mats to defend this drug because their boy was promoting it? LOL

Need further data with larger sample sizes and control groups. As of now, utilization of hydroxychloroquine is a marker for illness severity, and absent a randomized control group, selection bias will have a fairly prominent effect on results [it’s like saying intubated patients die more than those not intubated]. I’d appreciate some legitimate studies as I’m sick of this being a political issue.

Well said - we should all hope something can work to mitigate it. Trump needs to stop touting things that haven't been clinically proven and Never-Trumpers should not celebrate egg on his face when the cost is more friends and families losing loved ones.

Not sure lol is the appropriate response here, tbh. This isn't good news.

sure. It would’ve been nice if it had been the miracle drug that doctors Trump and Ingraham had touted. My LOL was aimed at those who thought expertise didn’t matter and they could BS their way to a cheap and easy cure. Hopefully we develop better treatments. But I hope that we’re doing putting our trust in cable tv hosts and the world’s most flagrant liar. The sooner we put our trust in experts the better. Methinks the dreams of a cheap cure or reopening to normal life in a few weeks is going to bite a lot of people in the ***.

If there's anything that's going to be found as an effective treatment, it's going to be something that's "cheap," relatively, because it takes 10 years to bring a drug to market. If anything is going to be implemented for COVID-19, it won't be a novel compound.

Been hearing about several drugs being tested as possible treatments. There are clinical trials underway for arbidol, remdesivir, and favipiravir. Also, plasma with antibodies from those who have recovered is currently being used to treat the disease as are transfusions with oxygen rich blood.

Yes, what I am referring to is the fact that an available treatment is going to come from something that's already around, as the above already are.

Death is skyrocketing across the nation while its decreasing in New York. We just saw 2,800 deaths, worst day so far. But sure, it’s like totally time to open back up! I mean, we gotta MAGA. Amiright?

A disturbing new study suggests Sean Hannity helped spread the coronavirus....

Throughout the coronavirus pandemic, media critics have warned that the decision from leading Fox News hosts to downplay the outbreak could cost lives. A new studyprovides statistical evidence that, in the case of Sean Hannity, that’s exactly what happened.

The paper — from economists Leonardo Bursztyn, Aakaash Rao, Christopher Roth, and David Yanagizawa-Drott — focused on Fox news programming in February and early March.

At the time, Hannity’s show was downplaying or ignoring the virus, while fellow Fox host Tucker Carlson was warning viewers about the disease’s risks.

Using both a poll of Fox News viewers over age 55 and publicly available data on television-watching patterns, they calculate that Fox viewers who watched Hannity rather than Carlson were less likely to adhere to social distancing rules, and that areas where more people watched Hannity relative to Carlson had higher local rates of infection and death.

Also turns out an internal memo was circulated to Fox employees the week of March 13th telling them to restrict travel, work from home if possible and cancel in-person meetings - the same week as Trish Regan's now infamous "Coronavirus Impeachment Scam" segment on the Fox Business Network.

John Oliver describes it perfectly. They lie to their viewers to make money. They don’t actually believe their ****. They’re working from home and practicing social distancing. But to make money, they’re telling their viewers to do the opposite.

watch this, it’s incredible

You are a tool, finding glee in the loss of life to make a point.

Well maybe funny is the wrong word, .. as Gameface said it's sad that's what it is, that the President would promote an unproven drug that's now doing more harm than good.

Imagine if everyone had followed his advice from the beginning.. how many more lives unnecessarily loss?

Why should anybody in any country follow the medical advice from president or prime minister at all? I know that i do not i.e if the president of our country should say that no need to brush the teeth in evening then i would anyway follow common sense and try to remember what was taught at school and finally also ask the opinion of dentists that i know.
It seems that in every country people are trying to get rid of personal responsibility; no matter what happens, somebody else has always made a mistake and is guilty.
