Right. In Utah, only the Democrat primary is open. Many other states have it open for both parties primaries. It's a state issue.

Did you vote for Romney in the primary or the general election? As far as I can see, only a couple states have open primaries for all elections, and Utah isn't one of them.

But by the time the general comes it's already too late. At that point we are stuck with Hillary and trump.

Regarding your next sentence, the Democratic party let's anyone vote in their primary already. Did the deck get stacked and that's why we got Biden as the presidential candidate?

If they only let registered democrats vote in the primary then do you think someone else would be the candidate?

What's very interesting to me, is that you're completely silent on the Biden thing, yet we all know if Trump had said it, you would've rushed over to post it.

I voted for Romney in some packet that was mailed to me. It had all kinds of things to vote for.

the GOP shows us daily how non-inclusive it is. It passes legislation that largely benefits rich white males. It daily fans the flames of xenophobia against Latinos and Asians. It daily works to suppress voters from diverse urban areas.

Like even if you knew nothing of Barr Goldwater, Nixon’s southern strategy, Willie Horton, Pat Buchannon, or even Donald Trump. All you need to do is spend a few minutes watching Fox News and you’d see how “inclusive” the party is.

Nobody here is arguing the merits of whether or not the Republican Party is inclusive. What’s being argued is if lack of open primaries is a valid criterion for being inclusive.

I have told you that I did it though. How did I do it without being a Democrat? Why can't i do the exact same thing in the Republican presidential primary? Will you please answer that specific question?

I would think a party would want to be as inclusive as possible and encourage as much participation in the primary process as possible. I think the fear of independents “hijacking” the Republican primary is pretty silly. Especially in Utah.

As far as arguing inclusivity as a party’s platform, it was a few posters back. There were a few posters who seemed to arguing whether the GOP’s platform and attitude was inclusive. It certainly is not. Piebrus’s 2012 autopsy told republicans this. An autopsy Report that was obviously ignored.
