Actually you can't vote in the Republican presidential primaries without being a republican. You can vote in the Democratic presidential primaries without being a Democrat though.
Which of those two scenarios seems more inclusive to you?

Right. In Utah, only the Democrat primary is open. Many other states have it open for both parties primaries. It's a state issue.
Did you vote for Romney in the primary or the general election? As far as I can see, only a couple states have open primaries for all elections, and Utah isn't one of them.
