Annnnnndddd why should both of these events be treated the same? See, this is where @RandyForRubio’s tribalism and insecurity really show up. He knows that the actual violence committed by the “very fine people” on his side is wrong but refuses to address the reason. Instead, he goes into a tailspin of whataboutism.

The reason why no one called out Democratic politicians and media out for the guy who hid outside of Kavanaugh’s house is because there aren’t any Democratic politicians and media calling for his head. @RandyForRubio you’ve already been called out for the lack of evidence before, let’s do it again. Find me some prominent Democratic politicians and/or media figures who’ve demanded Kavanaugh’s head on a stick?

You’re just not seeing former presidents Obama or Clinton calling the SCOTUS “corrupt” and “un-American.” And “left wing” corporate media either repeats the right wing narrative in an effort to “balance” the two sides or completely adopts it in lame attempts to siphon Fox News views (CNN). Meanwhile, right wing media on a daily basis fans the flames of violence, racism, and civil war.

You demand both situations to be treated the same but they’re both completely different. We’ve seen what your politicians and media figures have motivated Americans to do over the last few years:
  • Caesar Sayoc and his bombs
  • Jan 6
  • CRT and books panic
  • Anti-mask then Anti-vaccine stances. Your side began drowning themselves in ****ing anti-malarial garbage and horse dewormer because your leaders and media recommended it as quack treatments for Covid.
  • Qanon
  • Attempted kidnapping of Democratic governors to “liberate states!”
  • Charlottesville
  • El Paso marketplace and Pittsburg Synagogue
  • Comet Pizza
  • Seth Rich saga
  • Voter suppression laws to prevent the non-existent voter fraud from 2020 from occurring again all because Donnie J won’t admit he lost.
  • And now we’re seeing horrible mistreatment of immigrants by Republican presidential hopefuls all because the leader of your party is a bigot and right wing media exploits the white grievance of its voters.
You just don’t see this kind of rhetoric, tribalism, and blind loyalty on the left from its politicians to its media outlets. One can easily see who and what influenced this man to do this. It’s been a hallmark of Trump and RW media for two years now:

Initially, he claimed my rhetoric damned me.

He's just throwing mud at the wall in the dark hoping something sticks. He must’ve gotten up on the wrong side of the bed yesterday. Unfortunately, I think it’s more of a systemic issue among those who identify Republican.

In all reality, when was the last time a conservative or someone who identifies as Republican on here been able to debate things in a rational fact filled manner? It’s been quite a long time. Seems like every Republican on here has to resort to conspiracies, grievance, personal attacks, and whataboutism. It’s disheartening. But I guess that’s what happens when your party doesn’t have a platform outside of tax cuts for the rich, loyalty to Trump, and doing whatever to ownthelibs

If I recall, Maxine Waters of Florida told people to harass Trump's associates if they saw them in public.

I think there's a dangerous amount of violent rhetoric from both sides, and very little being done by anybody to curtail it. We need to be able to call a spade a spade if there's any hope of fixing this. Calling people who oppose you fascists or communists isn't going to do anything but build resentment, and I'm guilty of it too. We all need to do better.
 
Anyways, I'll break it down for you. You recently blamed the crazy guy at DQ with guns on dangerous talk from conservatives. Did you do the same in regards to liberals when a man with weapons was arrested outside of a SC Justice's house? We both know you did not. It's fine that you're the most partisan person on this board, just own it.
What do you see as some of the talk from liberals that would have encouraged a man to hunt Kavanaugh down? Are we talking abut expressions of frustration, or atual discussion about tearing down the government? Is it coming from Congressional Representatives? Do you see an equivalent on the left (in terms of pushing fictional narratives) for Boebert, Greene, Hawley, etc.?

I'll admit to being far left enough that I could be missing some things, and every once in a while it's good to check my biases.

We need to be able to call a spade a spade if there's any hope of fixing this. Calling people who oppose you fascists or communists isn't going to do anything but build resentment, and I'm guilty of it too. We all need to do better.
Both of those statements definitely deserve condemnation.

I believe he did, when he called 911 to turn himself in.

However, @RandyForRubio 's point is not about the two situations directly, from what I can tell, but about the rhetoric from various politicians in each party. I don't think there is equal venom coming both sides, but that doesn't mean the Democrats are without gilt here, either.

Roske told police he was upset by a leaked draft opinion suggesting the Supreme Court is about to overrule Roe v. Wade, the landmark abortion case. He also said he was upset over the school massacre in Uvalde, Texas, and believed Kavanaugh would vote to loosen gun control laws, the affidavit said.

No not much about overthrowing the government and installing a king, but an attempt to kill a SCJ and stop specific rulings.

Thanks for responding with evidence this time. I think Waters said that several years ago and it was widely panned. I don’t believe she’s said it since. And I wasn’t even aware of Schumer’s words. Did he s speak them at a campaign rally or a widely watched news show? Both were inappropriate and irresponsible. Rhetoric like that taken by the wrong person can lead to violence.

But I don’t see rhetoric like this is consistent or widespread. More importantly, neither are connected to actual violence that can be attributed to Republican politicians and media members as we’ve seen over the past several years. Again. Think back to the hundreds if not thousands of attacks we’ve seen on politicians, immigrants, and institutions that can be directly attributed to right wing rhetoric. Just look at what’s being said literally everyday on the right by media operatives with millions of followers, current congresspeople, Republican candidates, and former presidents.

Let’s remember, Qanon was described by the FBI as a terrorist threat.

From the dehumanization of immigrants, political opponents, and teachers to election fraud lies to attacks on American institutions like the FBI and DOJ, to kidnapping attempts of governors, to Jan 6, the rhetoric on the right is taking a toll on our democracy. Which is why President Biden warned the nation a few weeks ago about the semi-fascism that is threatening the overthrow of our nation.

not good. Definitely not good. But thankfully you don’t see hardly any inflammatory rhetoric from the left. When it happens, it’s panned. As Biden has done repeatedly. And it’s not leading to daily violence and/or threats.

And this post I know isn’t directed at you. But I think we need to see the bigger picture here instead of taking partisan potshots here.

Meanwhile, how many Republican candidates this weekend are calling their opponents pedophiles and allies of Satan?

How many immigrants are suffering emotional and physical harm because DeSantis wants to score pts with the base?

How many teachers and librarians will be forced into resigning due to RW rhetoric inflaming the community against them?

How many polling workers will quit rather than be threatened by MAGA?

How many more church shootings will be attributed to Donald’s rhetoric? I know that El Paso, Christ’s church, and Pittsburg’s tree of life can be.

Democracy is going to struggle with so many influential members of the media, including the former president, fanning the flames of authoritarianism, hate, and conspiracy.
