Walker Kessler Hype & Appreciation Thread

Found him. He is 18th!! Wow, not what I expected. I mean still top 20 but, wow. Kessler with a rim opponent FG% of 51.2% and Rudy at 56.5%.

The frequency that Gobert gets challenged at the rim is higher than i expected as well. Though guys like rudy and kessler really really hate leaving the rim area on defense so of course they will get challenged more than a lot of the others on the list simply due to how rarely they go out on the perimeter to defend.

The truth hurts that Kessler owns Gobert lol thank you Ainge for seeing that Rudy was an overpaid one dimensional stiff

Kessler could potentially be a franchise player to build around if he develops his offensive game. We could be looking at an Embiid level bigman in the future.

That would require a shooting touch he hasn’t shown beyond a couple feet. His free throw shooting isn’t indicative of that happening.

Usually when young players are compared to a future HOF it does them a disservice. Filling big shoes and all. But WK has turned that around and made it embarrassing for Rudy. Hate it for Rudy, but Kessler has been amazing.

i havent watched a game in forever cos we didnt suck enough ***, but i did see walker kessler trending on twitter.

He averaged 1.5 attempts in college(only 20% made) and drained one this year so I think it's something that he can develop over the years. He'll never be Embiid level but I think he can bring that up to the 30's and at least be a threat.

Kessler looks small next to Gobert
Yeah this is a bit overblown. Rudy has established his dominance in the paint over the years so completely that they just don't challenge him anymore. We saw that in Utah last year even, where people would just veer out of the paint and pass it away instead of challenge Gobert. Hard to get blocks when they avoid you.
I hope Kessler develops this reputation and gets to a point where no one wants to challenge him inside.

Lol late to the party as usual

Yes he could be a franchise player but why are you comparing him to Embiid? Lol
Lol. Kessler definitely has potential to be one of the best bigs in the league.
He will never have Embiid’s offense, but that won’t stop him from being one of the best.
It may not happen, but WK's ceiling is sky high.
Right on both accounts
