So the church is against drinking right? Why don't they try to ban alcohol completely? Am I missing something here?
Have you seen Utah licqour laws? Who says they have not taken it as far as they legally can.

Selfishness is the main issue, and Homosexuality is only one of many branches of the core issue.
The Family is the fundamental unit of society, and that has been broken and eroded quite a bit in the last 100 years. Selfishness is the main reason there is so much discord in a family, it is the main reason children will not talk to parents or parents will not talk to children. It is the main reason for divorce. It is the main reason for cheating among spouses, or sexual relations before marriage. More and more children have been raised in an atmosphere farther and farther from that of a loving and nurturing home with a father and a mother present that love them and love each other.
Homosexuality has no place in a family, its nature runs a course opposite to that of which a family could be created or formed. If two men or two women were the last two people on the earth they could not procreate. They would be the last two people on earth, period. As to religion, one of the purposes of life is to procreate and be part of the “creation” of life. As to science it has been said that one of the first “instincts” is to pass your genes on. Homosexuality plays no useful role in either religious ideas, or scientifically the passing on of genes, but is mainly a selfish act of those involved. At best homosexual intercourse form a bond between those participating. Heterosexual intercourse can be a selfish act, it can form a bond between two people, and it can form an even more beautiful bond between those people through the formation of new life.

I feel in a similar way about people that are heterosexual and cheat on their spouse, sleep around before marriage, etc. I feel they all have a negative impact on our society, and the excuse that they only affect themselves with their choices is a cop out. Every choice you make affects you and the people around you. They are the core foundation of who you are, how you interact with others, and form a base for future decisions. Even choices we make when we are alone have an impact. Each choice is a stone tossed into the lake of life, and the ripples from that splash will be there either large or small depending on the size of the stone (choice)… but they will definitely be there even if we try to be blind to it.
By the way there are more links, studies, statistics, bla bla bla out there if you care to look for it. I’m sure one of you will look into debunking the doctors, writers, researchers, and whoever did this work, while finding plenty of quotes, research, statistics, doctors and whatnot to “prove” some other argument.
I just threw this sample together to show there is information out there to backup what I believe and think even if I usually don’t care to throw it around. I apologize if a link or two do not work, I haven't had to time to test them all to make sure they go to the right places.
I'm sure you will be my beta testers and let me know every flaw in the post.

For Craig? I'd like to jam his face into a rhino's brown-round.
If I were an orphan in an orphanage I'd be happy to be adopted by a gay couple. Having people who care about you and can support you beats being an orphan your entire childhood.
Homosexual couples can already do that without being married.
Family isn't necessarily the fundamental unit of society. And family itself is defined loosely. In some societies, the entire village is considered family. There are some cultures where the term for "older man," the basic equivalent to when we'd use "sir," is the same word as "father." Mediterranean culture used to be where the sons would build their house after they got married as an extension to their parents' home. I'm sure you don't live next door to your parents (should actually be in the same building), so they would think you're being "selfish" and destroyed the framework of the family unit. How would you respond to that? The concept of "family" isn't set in stone as you make it out to be.
Also, humans find pleasure in sex. It is more than a natural instinct at that point. Other animals use sex to procreate. Humans find an emotional response to it, thus, it has other meanings then to procreate. Nothing selfish about it, unless you equate it to eating chocolate, or something, since eating chocolate is not healthy, nor is it part of the "natural" nutrition.
Link #1: So, what's the point? I could throw out a statistic that x out of y societies are matrilineal (would be under 50%). Would that make those people somehow worse or selfish? In any case, lack of observant homosexual behavior doesn't equate to lack of genetic traits. Last time I looked into it, the issue is unresolved.
Link #2: The inference is that people are saying they're born that way because society tells them it's okay to say so. Of course, new scientific understanding of the genetic code couldn't have anything to do with it.
Link #3: Sure, a risk. I'm sure you could find similar studies for drinkers, smokers, foster parents, single parents, families who move a lot, etc. I do believe the studies have shown the stability seems to be the biggest factor. I guess the solution is to actively force everyone who isn't in a nuclear family and a single detached house with a white picket fence into said conditions.
Link #4 and #5: What's the point? Riskier situations require more vigilance in protecting oneself. Having sex with Africans (hetero or homo) makes one more likely to contract HIV. Does it then become selfish to have sex with Africans?
Link #6: Have the studies been performed to determine whether the higher use is because they're homosexual, or to other social factors that are common amongst homosexuals. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the suicide rate higher in American Mormons than with any other Mormon? Is that because they're Mormon, or because of social norms more common to Mormonism.
If I were an orphan in an orphanage I'd be happy to be adopted by a gay couple. Having people who care about you and can support you beats being an orphan your entire childhood.
I am under no obligation to answer anything. If I feel like coming in here and stating a point and then leaving for good, I can do that.
I wish they would decide these things before having a vote. Why have a vote anyway if a judge can overrule millions of voters?
So, it's constitutionality is based on whether it is mean or not? Great.
No Dalamon the greatest threat to America is ignorance and arrogance.

And Ute fans.
Do I believe homosexuality is a choice. I cannot read minds. I can only go on what I have experienced, and compare my religious convictions (of which many here will only attempt to scoff at)
I do believe it is a choice. If God is against it, then I don't think God makes a person a certain way, and then commands that person to not do it. God wasn't terribly forgiving with Sodom and Gomorrah (here comes the religion hate)
But it is also a question with many facets.
Why choose to be miserable? A lot of people are miserable. Not because they chose to be miserable, but because they made bad choices in life and now suffer the consequences.
So much rep to give out, so little time.Seriously, your post made me laugh. Did you chose to like girls? I don't believe little kids have the knowledge or understanding to make a choice about what they are attracted to. One day usually at a very young age your specific appendage comes to attention when it views an attractive girl. There is no choice it simply who you are. The choice comes when you decide to have sex. Not what gender you are naturally attracted to. Besides the fact there are plenty of "screw-ups" at birth if you believe GOD has some control of how people are. Why are people born blind, birth defects etc? Why would god do that if he doesn't make mistakes?
I love when religious people use Sodom and Gomorrah as a reason why we better watch out. God is going to fry gays or sinful people. I recall the story (not that I believe it) had more to do with the unchristian like behavior of the city inhabitants which including judging others, not helping people and many other things. Christians use it as justification to bash Gays.
Why are you assuming that all gays are miserable? I know several gay people and they are some of the most balanced people I know. I highly doubt sexual orientation has little to do with happiness. Why are you so concerned about what Gays do? And Heterosexuals are miserable. Why the high rate of Prozac in Utah?
It is obvious that you don't like people "hating on your religion". So what is wrong with people dissing your religious beliefs (for many people who think religion is ridiculous) or what is wrong with us making laws against you practicing it. I am sure you would whine all day if people didn't allow you to go to church on Sunday. Many people find your religion immoral and against God's teaching. It is a choice. No one made you choose religion. Let's get a Proposition going to get rid of Mormons.
You are entitled to your opinions just like everyone else. However, you have no right to take away someone 's rights either. This is why the law found prop 8 unconstitutional. Funny how conservatives talked about the constitution only when it fits their ideas. There have been a lot of votes that have been found unconstitutional that is why we have the Court system. See the world would be better if you just believed what you do and live your life the way you want and allow the same for others. All the other stuff is just your opinion which is based in believe and not fact.
