Griffin PIGS get slaughtered in LA tonight

I'm looking at the play-by-play at the beginning of the 3rd quarter....

The Jazz didn't score a bucket in the first 4 minutes of the quarter until Al scored a lay-up at 8:07.
Al missed 2 shots.
Sap missed 2 shots.
Marvin and Foye each missed a 3-pt shot.

Meanwhile, the Clippers only missed 2 shots, shooting 4/6 from the field, and both times they missed Griffin got the offensive rebound.
The Clippers also drew 3 shooting fouls, 2 by Griffin and 1 by Butler.
Griffin scored 10 points in less than 4 minutes.
Butler scored another 4 points.

The Clippers outscored the Jazz 14 - 0 in the first 4 minutes of the 3rd quarter.

Not to pick on anyone in particular, but it looks to me like Millsap got his a$$ handed to him by Griffin.
Griffin scores 10 points, grabs 2 offensive boards (the Clips' only 2 misses), and draws 2 fouls on Sap for And-1 plays in just 4 minutes.

Favors comes in for Millsap.

i really liked the defence kanter was playing on griffin (even though i've come to expect it). although griffin wasn't looking quite as aggressive at that stage.

For the record, I like Tinsley. He can be useful, but he shouldn't ever try to guard a good player, and he shouldn't be forced to shoulder such a load. I honestly might prefer him to Mo in all honesty (I know that's nuts).

That said, the Jazz need to just play their best players, and conventional wisdom says your best guards are Mo, Burks, Foye, and Hayward (who is also a forward). Tinsley in a pinch is wonderful, Tinsley as a backup is probably okay in a vacuum as well, but you cannot justify him or Earl playing over Burks. Similarly, Marvin Williams is lucky to get on the floor at all, let alone ahead of anyone that actually tries and can produce at all.

It's a sad statement, but Tinsley is still the best pure PG on the team. He can actually direct an offense.

I'm pretty sure he's the only one. Watson just looks like a spazz that makes some magic happen at random times (usually at home).
 
Why are we arguing between Al being bad for the team or the starting lineup being terrible? These are not mutually exclusive. We have a coach that's enabling all of the above and a front office that's apparently okay with it.

you are skewing this stat in the favor of your argument.

dont split it by half, millsap did his damage in the first. after that he scored 6points so the other 3 starters didnt score Millsap scores 6 points after the first, and its al's fault.

I missed the first half. I guess that's good to hear. I'm just trying to see how a 2-point deficit became 18 points. Griffin ran us over in the 3rd quarter.

However, Griffin only had 2 more points in the 3rd quarter once Favors came in.
