My honest opinion on burke: conley is what I hope he can be (best case scenario)
Jameer nelson level of player is what I believe to be likely
Dj augustine is worst case scenario.

In other words.... your post is spot on and I didn't really need to elaborate.

Keep up the good work

I see Augustine. I'm sure that will help others see my hesitation on him.

I don't think Dj Augustine was college player of the year... But then again, jimmer was too... I think in a terrible draft like the one we had, it's a toss up. We could have take. Mccollum, but he is not a sure thing either. Mcw sucks worse than anyone in the history of suck, and Schroeder was an unknown. So Burke was the guy the jazz liked. I like him, and hope he turns out great. But if he is a role player surrounded by a few all star level players, we will be a good to great team.

Good to know.

Burks has too much competition. Hayward is sometimes a better 2 than 3, Rush is more established, and there's the new guy Clark who is basically a Randy Foye who can defend better. Sure, Burks get time over the rook, but I doubt he gets the run that GoFavTer will get. (yeah, that's not gonna stick.)

Gordon has nothing but an aged vet and an undersized 4 in the way. Kanter has nothing but a rookie and a international bust in the way, and Favors has virtually NOBODY in the way. (oops, I forgot about Marvin. well, Gordon beat him out before, he can do it again)

Interesting you're calling Gobert a bust..

Gobert could really be surprising. He's going to get minutes this year and he's been very impressive so far. Once upon a time, he was thought of as a top 5 pick before people started to over-analyze and he took a tumbling in the draft. He could very well become a defensive star in the league with some weight on him.

Burks.

Favors will deal with foul trouble this season which will limit him throughout the season.
Enes will have a rough time playing starter minutes and, because of his injury, will wear out for a big chunk of the season.
Hayward is Hayward. I think we've seen what we're getting from him. I think he'll improve statistically a bit, but it won't be anything major.

Burks is chomping at the bit. He'll be the first wing off the bench and he'll be relied on to score, which is his greatest skill. He'll see the largest statistical rise out of the three, except maybe Enes. I'll bet he averages at least 16 off the bench next season.
