Missing 1 piece

I think at this point it is hard to say which "piece" we are missing. Let's wait until Memo gets back and see how things roll.

Korver is hardly the piece we are missing.

Korver's D overall is/was underrated because he was bad at defending isos, but his team D was definitely above average. It's not hard to hide him on D and make him a helper, but ideally you give that luxury to a guy that can do more than just shoot.

Long story short, Korver is not what we're missing. The Jazz are still short a legit 5 that protects the basket. And if there's a wing the Jazz are missing, it's Matthews (although I still agree with the decision to let him walk, no matter how good he becomes). Not Korver.

Korver has always played better team and transition D than Brewer and CJ, but he;s definitely NOT the missing piece. A solid 2-way 2 guard would be HUGE for the Jazz.

I think we are 1 piece away
I totally agree. Need another 3point shooting/ driving wing to stabilize the 2nd unit.

and that piece was ...Kyle Korver.
As long as were are talking about what might've been, why not go all in and say "Wes Mathew". Let Raja start and play about 18-20 minutes, Mathews plays the rest. The new and improved CJ can stay at the 3 making a formidable 2nd unit of Watson, Mathews, Miles to compensates for Fesenko and Evans.

Complete and utter fail.

Korver and his horrid defense is the last thing we need.

What we're missing is a two guard that can create his own shot and rip the 3 pointer. If the Jazz had Brandon Roy or a (younger) Rip/Ray Allen/Michael Finley we'd be set.

Sadly, the best SG we've had since Hornacek is now playing for the Blazers. Not only is he a better shooter than Korver, but he's also a better rebounder, defender, and player.

This. And another big because I'm sorry but Jefferson, Millsap, Okur, Fes, and Elson won't cut it against the Lakers.

Depends on the health of Bynum and the play of Odom. The Jazz frontcourt may just match up ok with LA's, but it's far too early to say for sure. I think there's a bigger need at the 2 right now.

Very true. If Bynum's out of the equation, Jefferson seems to have showed that he can match up well with Pau. Odom though? Man, he's been a nightmare for us. Can you think of any twos who fit your criteria who at some point between now and February could be on the block AND be had in some sort of trade in which both teams come out okay as far as the LT is concerned?
