What's new

I do not understand why we brought Favors back for three years after drafting Udoka. So he is going to sit behind Rudy and Favors for 3 years. Now after signing Favors and Clarkson we have no money for an athletic wing. That is all the front office talked about was to get more athletic wings who would wreck spacing? Now we have three centers and Morgan can play their with a small ball lineup.

I think they're going to give minutes to Oni and Hughes.

Can't keep track of everything at this point, so maybe the point has been made:

Draft looking more and more like FA insurance (which turns out we didn't need immediately) -- still hope Dok & Hughes turn into good players.

We can't match the warriors in that way. They have two of the greatest shooters ever. Rockets are dead for a reason. We shot better than the nuggets that's not why we lost. Also we were even with nuggets. We needed depth and a healthy team.
So Jokic didn't neutralize our entire defense with his ability to drag Rudy out of the paint?

Unless the Jazz are making trades, it's probably it.

This + bringing back the non-guaranteed guys and minimum contract players. If the Jazz are willing to pay a bit of luxury tax, they have the bi-annual exception (BAE), which starts at $3.6 million. That's all they can do.

Can the BAE be spent/split on two players?

Honestly, I think there were guys on the Jazz that didn't want to be in the bubble any longer.

I gotta believe the FO has a lot of faith in 1 of Oni, Brantley, Tucker to develop, considering we invested exactly $0 on perimeter defense.

They may have faith, but that’s no placation. The last person they had faith in was TB and we rolled into the playoffs with him. We just paired him with assets to dump him.

Sure. Wouldn't amount to any/much more than veteran minimums if split.

But...a couple people are reporting the Jazz are already above the LT and at 14 players, so it sounds like the Jazz are done.

I agree with that. I think there were many issues though. Things changed after the temp shut down in the playoffs, it was a turning point. But defense, depth, and other things were issues. Anyone who watched that series and thinks better shooting is what we needed is someone I struggle to respect their opinion.
