I am here.
I waited 3 years to register on this forum. Waited till Kanter leaves, so nobody can call me a homer.
Well, I am happy about the Jazz situation with Gobert. It was the right thing to give Gobert his development/playing time.
But don't forget that Kanter was 19 when he was drafted. 3 years Jazz abused him. In 3 years he could have developed a decent defensive game but it didn't happen. And now, because somehow Jazz luckily drafted Gobert, all people act like Kanter was the last piece of s*it. Nobody admits here that he wasn't treated fairly and yet he has always been a 20/10 guy. He could have been a 20/10 guy with a decent defensive game... A future Allstar.
Anyway, Kanter is happy, Jazz is happy, Gobert is happy now. So everything is fine and stop this rage against Kanter, he didn't do anything bad to the Jazz team.
Ummm, sorry, you can't have it both ways. With Millsap and Carroll, the Jazz would have been fighting for the playoffs: No Exum. And likely no Favors. He was in the same situation as Kanter. He didn't want to continue to be a bench player. Also, you need to look at future salaries.
Hayward - $16M
Favors - $12M
Burks - $10M
Millsap - $12M?
That's $50M with only 4 players. Only $13M under the cap to fill out the rest of the roster. Use the exceptions for a couple of seasons and the Jazz would be getting awfully near the tax line. There was no knowledge at that time the cap would jump in 2016.
But like I said, the Jazz had two big choices to make:
1. Millsap or Favors
2. Jefferson or Kanter
Both Enes and Derrick had made it clear they expected to start. RE-sign Al or Paul and that's a clear signal for either to demand a trade. I do agree Utah should have tried to keep DMC. Then again, if you look at the player he was under Corbin, he was pretty average. He developed into a real 3&D player by working with Quin in Atlanta. That's probably a codemnation of Ty and his staff more than Dennis.
Yeah, yeah. Sure. I am tired of repeating all the same things all over again. See my posting from here.LOL. Jazz didn't "abuse" Kanter. The ONLY season you can complain about playing time is his second. But he was given the starter's job on a platter last year. And again this season. He was playing 27 mins/per. Would he have developed a defensive game if he was playing 33-35? No. Kanter and all you Kanter-lovers have to look in the mirror. Enes didn't WANT to concentrate on defense. We all thought Richard Jefferson was such an idiot when he left last season. In hindsight he was probably right about Enes saying defense wasn't important.

Picking the "27" minutes but without looking closely, is the problem. This year he was benched so often and Snyder made his rotations, even he was on fire. But hold back when others were on fire.
And This is his 4th year. I talked about the 3 years before. If these years weren't wasted, now in his 4th year we wouldn't talk about his sucking in defensive game. He didn't want to concentrate on defense?
After season 1 or 2 he was ripped like Ibaka but yet nobody cared (he was in this sports center for bulking up).
Not a big Kanter guy but aren't the Thunder on a winning streak as well?
You are forgetting that they also would not have drafted Exum or Hood. They would have been better not drafting top 5 and they would not have had the 2nd pick. For the 24 million they spent on R Jefferson, A Biedrins, B Rush, they could have had both Carrol and Milsap. They might not have been able to sign Burks to the 10m a year but that might have been a good thing.

Because someone is ripped they should be excused for sucking at defense?

Dude, can you read and understand sentences?
Did I say something like that? The guy said Kanter didn't care for defense, and I tried to prove him wrong with saying, the one off-season he bulked up so much to be able to play better the defensive game.
It is not an excuse for sucking at defense. The excuse is, 3 years Jazz had the time to teach him some defense, Utah didn't. But sayin Kanter didn't care is funny and not true.
