Well that's the scary thing, he does have serviceable jumper and is scoring at a good rate without even resorting to it. Al Jefferson, for instance, usually takes the easy way out and launches his low percentage push shot as his first option. Kanter likes contact too much to do that. He will get blocked from time to time, but is also going to draw twice as many fouls as Jefferson.

One of the things that Kanter well have to improve on is his explosiveness when going to the rim. He got a nice pass in the low block from #11 and couldn't get up quick enough or high enough to finish what should have been an easy dunk. He missed a couple of good passes that could have lead to shots for him also. His rebounding was as good as advertised as he was always at least in a pretty good spot to get the board both on the offensive and defensive ends. I also like the fact that he was out there from the middle of the 3rd all the way to the end. Seems like the coach is starting to trust him a little more on the court. Over 20 min for the first time.

Over all I like what he is going to bring to the Jazz. And have no problem with us drafting him at 3

That is a really good point. Look and what he is able to contribute to a team without even being the 3rd option on the floor ever. If he has teammates that are willing to look for him and get him the ball when he is in a good spot then he could really be a great contributer to the team.

That is a really good point. Look and what he is able to contribute to a team without even being the 3rd option on the floor ever. If he has teammates that are willing to look for him and get him the ball when he is in a good spot then he could really be a great contributer to the team.

To speak in his teammates defense, they did start to look for him toward the end of the game, but he too often wasn't where they wanted him to be. It seemed like there were a few good opportunities to anchor himself in the post where he decided to back away instead. Not sure if that's what he's supposed to do, but even Hedo looked hesitant to shoot on one occasion.

Every time he decided to post up, he was able to completely manhandle whoever was trying to hold his ground. It was pretty damn impressive.

If you ask me, the "push shot" by Big Al is a pretty high percentage shot, similar to a hook shot. It is close to the basket and I am not sure if you HAVE to draw contact when you are in a good position to score. He does not go up strong after a fake but rather try to adjust his shot to score, I give you that.
