It wasn't a suspension. It was an immediate ban, doe.

I think you should know better than to tell me what I want for myself. I post on several boards, the moderators here are by far the worst of all of them.

The only reason it was a "suspension" is because you guys realized very quickly you screwed up by banning them. Maybe try to own up to your mistakes rather than make up excuses.

The fact that you can write those words means that you were not banned. At least not permanently. And a temporary ban IS a suspension.

I think I've got it. When someone has been banned, the term changes once they are allowed to return. The ban obviously becomes a suspension because they are back.

What's a permaban? (does the forum use both terms 'ban' and 'permaban' or is the latter a poster-created term?)

I wish I could perma-ban Hantlers for at least a day. That would rule.

The next person who says "doe", and I don't care if you're friend or foe, gets a neg from me. For eternity.

    Not kidding.

Poster-created. The only official terms are suspension and ban. See here: https://jazzfanz.com/faq.php

Great, go post on the other boards. No one makes you post here

If you honestly believe that then you're a bigger fool than Archie. They were informed, in advance, that if they kept making new threads related to a topic that had already been locked that they would be suspended until there was a vote on the two of them. They are adults and kept posting about it. The natural consequences followed. Word for word, the warning they were given was:

The only argument Archie has is that he didn't start a new thread, but instead started hijacking other threads to talk about it. The technical term for this in the legal profession is weak sauce.

The temporary nature of it was stated in advance, and there was never an intention to perma-ban them at any point in time. The length of the ban never changed, as they were unbanned after a vote was taken. There was never an instance of changing our minds because we screwed up. There wasn't even a moderator in-fight on the issue because everyone that got to read the entirety of exchanges in PM back and forth agreed that they were purposely trying to get a reaction and didn't like the one they got. In sum, you are speaking out of your ***.

Poster created for the sake of this site but it's an old and common use for the word that describes the action.

I first thought it was a hair style though.

Another awkward address for the term is a 30 year old UK company that manufactures products that protect concrete floors.

But I came across a strange thing as I have surfed through the site.

    That's 'cause we're professionals.

Well, all but me. I chose not to accept a salary for my work here.

I think that gives me tons more latitude around here.

Maybe if you ever got elected to something you could ban me. Alas, I don't think that will ever happen.
