The danger of covid hasn’t passed. It appears that we’re just bored with restrictions and are now going to plow through ahead, regardless of the economic or human costs. We are losing 2,000-2,500 people per day and it appears like we just don’t care anymore. We aren’t even trying to lower those numbers anymore.

Big thing is borders will be closed to the US for an awful long time too. Gonna hurt trade massively. But you know T.Rump has the best of everything...

I think in a couple of weeks travel will resume more or less as normal between here and NZ.

I released my first covid victim to the coroner today. Im expecting a spike when restrictions are lifted, that said we're better prepared. Im pretty isolated, only person i have contact with outside of work is my bird and she's fit as a fiddle.

Realistically this hasnt been such a bad thing, no longer feel guilty about skipping the gym and im saving about 400 bucks a week by not going to the pub. Work is generally quieter outside of the covid ****. 6 more months of this and i'll have a decent house deposit saved. Sure both my businesses are closed and 15 of my workers are out of work but i seem to have no end of **** to do.

I mean why not legalize murder? There are so many people who aren't murdered. So it's really nothing to worry about

Most of the population didn’t die of Black Death or the 1918 flu. Most people didn’t die from the world wars. But we all know most people will die if they’re forced to wear a mask to go shopping. Let’s keep things in perspective.
 
It’s really astounding how dumb ppl are. On the radio today, I heard some guy say all-in-all, this hasn’t been nearly as bad the 2 million fatality projections Fauci had said were possible.

1) Yes, that was without taking precautionary measures like masks and socially distancing.
2) Is this over? We’re still cruising along at over 2,000 deaths and about half of the country has resumed life, more or less. Do people think it won’t get worse in the coming weeks as a result? I can’t imagine we won’t see 3,000+ deaths daily starting in the next 2-3 weeks. And 3,000 is a very mild projection. Gun to my head, we hit 4,000 deaths a day by May 20th-25th.
 
Deaths will be over 100k, not 2M as we actually took preventative measures. Nothing to spike a football over.
 
I went back to the beginning of this thread as we were trying to decide when this was first being talked about here in the US. Read the first few hundred posts. We were so blissfully innocent then and unaware of how much life would change.
