This would crush on a Lakers forum.

Its trash on a Jazz forum. Wow. Zero high end young talent and we lose Lauri, Walker and Sexton. Wild scene.
7 first round picks and guaranteed awful for the next two (supposed) super drafts. But yeah, it's a pretty great deal for the Lakers. Not well thought out or serious. I just tried to make something work.

I guess to make it more fair, Brown goes to the Warriors and the Lakers keep JV/Vincent?

I didn't remember this... I know you mentioned Raps as a JK destination but I was like "Barnes, Poeltl, Barrett... not sure we want ball handling non-shooter with them".

I think I'd be cool taking the 2026 Indy pick they have and calling it a day.

There are many articles that say the same thing, this is just one. If you do a google search for articles in January you will see a ton of them. The rumor mill was hot because it became even more obvious that Siakam would be traded once OG was traded. OG trade was completed Dec 30. Kuminga for Siakam was a well known rumor. Paul George even talked about it on his podcast.

The Golden State Warriors have long been linked to Siakam and certainly could use a boost as they sit below .500. However, the Raptors would want Jonathan Kuminga in any trade (Chris Paul is a given as salary ballast) and, despite recent frustrations, the Warriors have no plans to deal Kuminga to Toronto or anywhere else, reports Michael Grange at Sportsnet in Canada.

Still, according to multiple sources, the Warriors are loathe to trade Kuminga, who is seen as a potential star who can help them win now and in the future, the rare piece on the roster who can help Golden State both support Steph Curry in the present and transition to a successful post-Curry future, should it ever come.

The Warriors could try to swap Moses Moody for Kuminga in a potential Siakam trade, but the Raptors will want more than that (another promising young player or picks). Chris Paul being out at least a month following hand surgery adds to the challenge of any trade involving him. The most likely outcome for Golden State at the deadline is they stand pat, try to get healthy, see how much better things look with Draymond Green back, and then make some hard choices come the summer.

And just for reference to what I was saying, these are Kuminga's numbers before and after Jan 1. If they liked him at the beginning of Jan, they probably still really him now. The IND 26 pick is like 1/3 or less of the value of the actual trade so I'd assume that would be very easy to get for Kuminga.

Before: 22 MPG - 12.5/4.0/1.3 - 50/29/67 - 57% TS

After: 30 MPG - 18.6/5.3/2.9 - 54/35/79 - 61% TS

I get it. Anything 4 team is going to be hard. I just dont know why any of the 3 other teams need the Lakers involved other than those 2 mythical picks. Maybe Im missing it but I think you can get whats needed with just us, TOR and GS.

Just an FYI... I was not doubting you at all. Was just saying I didn't remember. When you mentioned a fake trade with Toronto weeks back I just assumed you were doing the "kuminga seems like the Massai type" thing. And even though it doesn't make sense to me.. if they have interest (which it seems they do) then I'd be having that convo with them.

Brown and the Pacers pick... maybe we can sneak Clarkson in the deal? Re-route Brown.

I was just giving some credence to what I was saying before. We'll never know for sure if TOR would have preferred Kuminga+Paul to the IND package because Kumigna was never on the table....but I think it stands to reason that it's somewhat close and that if they liked Kuminga then, they also like him now given his significantly better play. IND 26 + Brown is like half the value of what they got for Siakam so I also think that's extremely gettable. Situations are fluid, but I can't see a world in which their valuation of Kuminga has dropped by like half. Personally, I prefer keeping Kuminga, but I do think something like that is on the table if we want to redirect him.

We also made a down payment to them, so factor that into the deal as well ;)

We've got a lot of down payments out there now.

The lakers were a borderline play in team last year and they will likely be that this year. Strictly from a talent perspective they are at a similar level to last year. I do like the addition of Knecht and he should give them decent minutes right away.
If they are relying on Knect for decent minutes, that would not be a good sign.

Lauri is the younger brother of AK. He's better at everything than being the older brother getting swatted by big bro. No dis to AK.

I'm happy to see the dude make a name for himself and as always, I want the Jazz to win now. But he's earned my respect to know the Jazz are betting on years from now, contracts to expire, injuries, draft picks, etc - you can name more.

If they wanna tank to land you know who, then you just don't know how odds work. It's what Vegas is built upon.

Although CW and IC are safe - somewhat. I hope I'm proven wrong and you all make me a fool. I'd feel like a scout.

He's probably gonna ball. If you've read more about IC and his drop, to me, it's being a kid, pressure, humbling and I like him.

CW - love him, cross my fingers for him, he reminds me of SDSU KL. Raw and talented. Delonte Exum had his ball vibe to me, mainly, he can gluide on defense. His injuries stole his potential. I know, trust me.

Madness (the 2030 GS 2nd rounder is actually the top 20 portion of their first)
I think this is kinda badass TBH. I don’t think the Warriors are actually trying to offload Wiggins necessarily, and the Jazz need to take on salary to get to the floor. I’m gonna take a stab at doing my own version of this basic framework but I honestly think this is killer.

Then go sign every Drew Eubanks All-Star you can find on the market and roll.
