Yeah, volunteers. Here's what Jacob 2 says:
"17 Think of your
brethren like unto yourselves, and be familiar with all and free with your
substance, that
they may be rich like unto you."
The Book of Mormon is a _covenant_, yes? Section 84 of the Doctrine and Covenants insists that it is. So Jacob's word is part of that covenant, and basic needs like housing, clothing, and food should be the minimum for the poorest of the poor. But the real kicker in this verse is that the rich should give until the poor are rich LIKE THEM.
Homeless people cannot even access any of the food those LDS volunteers canned, and none of the funds LDS volunteers donated go to housing or drug therapy for homeless people. All of that is reserved for people that are already housed in local congregations. The homeless are referred to local homeless services for their basic needs (run by non-LDS heretics), and they are not allowed to go to church with families! They have a branch set aside in a commercial property downtown (essentially a garage) called the Rio Grande Branch on 440 South 400 West where they are cordoned off, away from all the clean people.
And who feeds the homeless in Salt Lake City? The Catholics(!!!), who provide two free meals a day at the downtown Weigan Center. Which should be embarrassing in the extreme to people who read about Jesus in the Book of Mormon and the Bible, and insist that they are the "covenant people".
To what are they covenanted to? The Church's investment portfolio was leaked to Mormon Wikileaks, and is $32 billion. Their real estate holdings are more than that. They could put all of the homeless services and shelters downtown out of business for 1000 years if they chose to, but The Road Home (the largest shelter) begs for donations from the public every single year to remain in operation.
