Former Jazz players around the league

Id say just about as legit as he had here at this point of the season. In fact, last year Dec 24th he was ranked 8th by NBA.com... yesterdays ladder ranked him in the 11-15 range.

Dribble and score guard latest MVP reference points were Russ with triple-double average and Harden with his ridiculous iso scoring year. Don isnt flashy like them.

Dominant bigs are the current MVP trend. Suns had the best record by 8 games last year and Booker was barely mentioned.
I say the only true mvps choices if they stay healthy this season are Ja,Luka and Tatum and in that order. Sure you cannot count out Joker or Freak or even sleepers like KD again or Don if the Cavs finish with league best record or something, but its gotta be one of those first three if the season ended today.
I actually like Embiid this season if I thought he could stay healthy, but he can't. Curry is out of it, Lebron and AD are out with so much losing. Kawhi isn't even worth mentioning never being healthy.
If you had to pick a late riser dark horse, that has the stats, the team wins, but remains out of the conversation, because nobody thinks he can stay on the court ,it has to be none other than Zion

Donovan is taking it to another level! Markkannen is great but not that good.
Of course Marky aint Don, but there is no way the Cavs don't regret giving up Sexton, Marky, Ochai, and a million picks for him. Especially now that they can see how much it is hurting Garlands game, and the bigs, taking him off ball and handing Don the keys. Maybe if they had not just gave him the bag, but they definitely have too many eggs in one basket out there giving up all those draft picks.
I am starting to like our chances of some of those futures being really good picks for us.

Too early to even guess who is in the conversation at the end of the season but Ja is definitely not the frontrunner right now. Tatum would likely win it hands down if the season ended today.

Cleveland OffRtg up by 2.4 points from last year which is about the same as the rise of average rating of the league. So Don hasnt improved their scoring... at least not yet.

Donovan taking his stats to another level for sure but its all about the team and clutch play. While team hasnt improved offensively Don has been pretty clutch, so credit him for that.

Big reason for their record is their defense has improved from last year, which is a rarity since scoring is up. Last year Jarret Allen missed a bunch of games if I remember correct though.

your take seems to be the common perception right now stats wise so I get it, but I disagree with the idea Tatum is more valuable to his team or the league than Ja is right now. Nobody has more confidence than 12. I think he might not get the votes to win it right now, but he deserves it more.
His agressiveness might be why he continues to miss enough games, he rarely gets consideration throughout his career. But, despite his impressive season, Tatum can't be a threat to make his team better at all by comparison. When he gets playoff tested defenders matched up on him in a series, he has to be a better playmaker to be my mvp

Allen missed almost half the season, injured soon after Rubio was out for the year as well.

Mobley was great on defense not just for a rook, but the impact declined at the 5, as opposed to playing the 4 alongside a beast like Allen.
Yeah I remember the hype on him. Was super solid rebounder and defender around the paint.
