Game Of Thrones

I don't typically watch the show but there was a huge debate on the Howard Stern Show on Monday that the episode was not lighted properly - you can't tell what's going on for most of the episode because it's just too dark.

I watched it last night and I would agree; but I'm at a disadvantage because I'm not very familiar with the characters.

Does anyone else feel that way?

Yes. I reckon most of the episode would have been shot on green screen anyway, it doesn't look as good as it should in any case. Mind you all that costs money but GoT is a cash cow. That's my two cents

Google says there is a joint called Readings and More by Jennifer in Salt Lake City. I'm intrigued by whats implied by more I think BP is our man to do a bit of recon and report back.

Yes. It was too dark. I plan to watch it again after adjusting the brightness on my TV settings and watching in a blacked out room. I had a hard time knowing what was going on and I was watching in a dark basement room on a 60" TV. I have no idea what the **** they were thinking, other than wanting it to be realistically dark.

have you considered tea leaves, tarot cards or a telephone psychic?
No dude! I'm not into that phoney ****. I'm into getting super drunk, watching MTV era music videos from my childhood, bawling my eyes out and then realizing I've discovered hidden prophecies for Game of Thrones. Get on board or get out of the way! This is legit!

So you're saying the Mercy Seat could be the secret key to the whole show?

Hmmm well its possible...

Wait a ****ing minute, I'm sober and it certainly ****ing isn't a goddamn key to ****ing anything.

Christ doesn't exist in Westeros, way off. Try harder or get drunker.

Both the videos I posted had people set in an environment that would fit in the GOT universe. I mean... that's 90% of the way there. I also went the extra mile of explaining to the clueless how the lyrics tied into the show.

Drunk I'm doing circles on you (or maybe I just have the spins?).

Hmm only other tune I can think of is Chase the Dragon by Machine Gun Fellatio

Dunno how they're keyed into the whole Westeros thing they're mostly just a bunch of junkies from King's Cross.

We turned the brightness on the TV all the way up, and that made it watchable.

I saw a video done by a professional video editor and he said the problem was they calibrated it to professional monitors in highest possible definition under perfect viewing conditions and did not take into account that people would be watching on less than perfect TVs with often spotty streaming and in brighter than optimal ambient light conditions, and that's why it came out so muddled. Seemed to make sense. Had some examples too.

Much of the first 30 minutes was tough to make out imo. Yet you light it too much and people might complain it seemed too lit for nighttime. They wanted to make it feel true and chaotic.

I actually thought it was the quality of my stream, for once i wasn't pirating it but using a friends trial login for a pay TV provider, I figure their stream quality should be ok. I dunno it didn't look great, I'll buy the box set on Blue Ray and report back.

Hey the second song had stuff in it about chasing a dragon. Not sure what the plastic bag up the arse has to do with GoT but I dunno maybe Theon?

Rewatching now with brightness changed from 50 to 85.

I think they just wanted this to be their Saving Private Ryan moment and make it feel as authentic and chaotic as possible. Had the writing been better, they may have succeeded.

Part of my meh view is my tv too. I think it’s about 11-12 years old and been slowly going on me. I see four lines on it now that I don’t usually see.

Saving Private Ryan is one of the best movies ever.
