Its Time to Tank

It might be time to revisit this notion…

We just don’t have enough with the roster currently constructed.

Yes we will not tank on purpose unless DA trade 2 or 3 players in the coming days. But we are bad enough ( with a bit of management ) to go for 5-22 on the last 27 games. Which will put us in position to get some great players at the draft. No need to push for ending at 36-38 win, it does not make any sense.

The crazy part is that it is not too late. It will be pretty easy to get into that 6 to 8 range with a decent chance to jump into the top 4. The question is does our front office have the balls to finally do what is best for this team long term. My guess is no or it would have already been done.

This is awesome news. Give Lauri a month off
Why?
If next 2 seasons ( 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 ) are more tanking than winning Lauri walks out for free summer 2025.

24 months ( 2 years ) is not plenty of time and that will run out fast.
Of course Ainge can trade Lauri at some point if it looks that he's going to test 2025 UFA free-agency that way Lauri will not walk out for free.

That is why you tank this year. How is that not obvious to you?

I don't think anyone is suggesting that we tank the next two seasons after this one, nor do I think that is the plan of the front office. Most on here just think it would be in our best interest to tank the last 27 games of this season to get the best draft pick we and player we possibly can in the draft.

Nothing isn't guarantee. Not even that Jazz tanking works.
Actually tanking would guarantee us a top 8 pick which is a great worst case scenario. Best case scenario we get lucky and jump into the top 2 but no one is expecting that. Also the best part of tanking is that we finally give heavy minutes to the youngsters which is what we need so we can figure who could be a keeper and what positions of need we need to focus on.

Tanking rarely works out as a planned and it doesn't help always to get into promised land.
It might be too late to start tanking now because that should've started good while ago.

Jazz are not getting any guys from TOP5 range if / when their pick ends up to TOP10 / TOP15 range.
Sad but true.

True.
Putting all faith on tanking is like playing poker ( sometimes you win sometimes you lose ).

And the other option is not tanking and continue to play vets that have no long term future here. One option gives us the potential to take a giant leap forward and other option keeps us in mediocrity. Why you would choose the second is beyond stupid.

We are already playing poker… tanking is simply stacking some odds in your favor. It’s time… fire up the engines Danny!!!

Tell to me 10 potential franchise talent who will be available for Jazz in TOP10 / TOP15 lottery pick.
But don't count Wemby and Scoot those guys are TOP2 lottery pick franchise talents and both aren't available in TOP10 / TOP15.

Please tank. We're 1.5 games away from being 13th in the West. Just lose and finish off the season strong.
