Okay, so what?It's not about this, it's about keeping us out of the luxury tax. That deal probably sends us in the lux tax.

lmao if this happens. Cant wait to see those people complaining about DL's cap-space usage backpedal.
Okay, so what?
Oh I thought hayward's cap hold would be not much more than he's making now.
WTF are you talking about? You don't massively overpay a player for a plethora of reasons. You know, like resigning your players and adding more talent.
It's a fair question to ask;
WOULD THEY HAVE BEEN BETTER OFF JUST WAITING TO SIGN HIM THIS SUMMER? HOW MUCH $$$ POTENTALLY COULD'VE BEEN SAVED
Why is it heresay when I point that out??
Where is George Hill taking them this season that it was so important to do this?? NOW.
The Jazz arent going to add any more high priced talent, even if Hill signs for 20 million. We are going to have to draft talent, trade for it, or hope we get good enough to where good aging vets sign for the minimum.
So tell me the talent we would be adding. Give me a realistic scenario where we spend that money elsewhere and become a better team.WTF are you talking about? You don't massively overpay a player for a plethora of reasons. You know, like resigning your players and adding more talent.

We've had cap space and have been worrying about paying all of our players for years, well it's time to pay the piper. Stop looking ahead, we are good now and the priority should be staying that way. How do you even classify 'overpay'? What is our record with and without Hill this year? He has been huge for us. People make a lot of money these days, suck it up.
So ya, if you're okay with being a decent playoffs team as the peak of this rebuild, then paying Hill the max is okay. Because who cares about flexibility? We're good enough. But I don't think so. I just don't think Hill is THAT good. Maybe we can get Jru Holiday for cheaper, or something.
I think 3 years, 55M is a good starting point.
Thoughts?
Then Hill says no.
I'm sure our definitions of the words "Save" and "Discount" differ as they apply to this topic.It saves 14 million of capspace over the next 3 years if they make a perfectly fair deal(if they subtract the 14M we can give him now from his future salary), or more if Hill gives us some discount for getting tons of money up front.
Those close to 5M per year are NOT a small amount with all the players we are going to be paying. We need this deal if we want any chance to keep this core together.
Ehh, definitely disagree with this. Our hopes of being more than a decent playoff team are on the shoulders of two players, Hayward and Gobert. If those players keep improving then our team keeps improving. Hill is just the 3rd player who stabilizes it all and gives our two stars a consistent level of high level play on both ends. If you lose that, then you risk putting too much burden on those two guys if no one else can step up into that role.
