What about the party that has jumped on the Messini bandwagon? I'm sure there are many people in the world that wants him, including me. Not saying that I don't want Boylen. Just saying that a strong character, experienced European coach or a coach that is familiar with European patterns of the game should be given a chance for a few years, at least the time given to Corbin, because I have been strongly believing that the Jazz have the potential to become the next Spurs in the nearest future.

what bugs me is that this whole thing stems from a tape that was illegally provided.

Besides did Sterling really have a criminal intent in terms of being a racist and provoking others in this sense or was he just uttering stuff about his personal life?
Has he ever been a racist publicly?

But I had to ask those questions above and I really dont care about political correctness.

I say Sterling is one old SOB but he has been cheated heavily in this. He is one old frustrated man who can't get it up and jealous of African American boyz having their way with this hot chick.
In a heated moment, many of us say stuff we may regret later.
(But he at times is just too cool-headed in his defamation, I must add.)

You would know far more than me in terms of laws that cover what racism is as a crime, but personally I think that the intention a person has is the most important thing when judging him/her (or her/him. why do we always write the male first?). I mean come on, who are we kidding? If a person has racist thoughts, then that person has some notions in her/his mind that can easily transform into hate crimes, war crimes, senseless murders, or at the very least, in kids level, bashing the other race and you know how deep effects that has, we have that saying, ağaç yaşken eğilir (you can't teach an old dog new tricks).
I think trying to get rid of racism is always a good effort for the sake of humanity. But in this sole case, I think there is political moves and motives that drive the whole event. I was not aware of Sterling's racist background, but obviously many people were. Now that the association has a new boss, he has his own schemes set and wants to see who is with him and who is not. This is exactly like th Godfather, or the Wire's street gangs, or things similar.
Above all, anti-racism is a value and stand, only kept within the American borders. I don't see them -the government too anti-racist out of those borders most of the time.

He just wants her not to publicize her personal affairs with guys who happen to be black on instagram and not to bring those friends to the games.
that is all.
Media creates a s.h.t.storm, everybody gets sentimental and noone really takes a look at the core issues.
I think he is a racist but does this tape warrant that hefty reaction from the association?

As the head of a billion dollar entity, which is also associated with 29 other multi million dollar entities, several billion dollar advertising sponsors, national/global media, and is penetrating almost every American home at this time, your words or actions can reach (or alienate) millions of people almost instantaneously.
His words have alienated the entire black NBA workforce (which comprises ~80% of the body), 14 sponsors have dropped, and public appeal has taken a big hit. What the hell else would you expect silver to do. It is his job to protect and grow the brand, and sterling is outright damaging it, intentionally or otherwise.
These conducts were included in the bylaws of the NBA constitution for this very reason, and silver was in his rights to exercise his actions to protect the multi billion dollar NBA entity.
That and sterling is a dirt bag.

It has everything to do with freedom of speech and the first amendment . This is ******** about how the "NBA constitution" can override an individuals 1st amendment right . So according to this kind of reasoning it is ok to violate rights as long as the majority is ok with it. It is ok to bring back slavery as long as the individual agreed to a contract or " constitution ". We also should not expect any form of privacy in our homes. Intrapment is encouraged and perfectly legal. Murders are fine as well as suicides as long as the individual(s) agreed to the "constitution" of a buisness . It needs to stop Donald is an idiot but had broken no laws.
