Jazz Sign Rayjon Tucker

What if Koby knows Gilbert will fire him in a couple years regardless of performance and we just offer him a job here when he gets canned... can do us a few solids prior to coming on board.
DL should be scouting/grooming FO prospects in the same way an investor scouts distressed properties. Who else is in the hot seat?

Don't know if it was mentioned, Jazz worked out Rayjon Tucker on June 8th. They held two workouts that day and he was in the first session.

June 8 Session 1
Frankie Ferrari, San Francisco, 6'1"
Vic Law, Northwestern, 6'7"
Makai Mason, Baylor, 6'1"
Derel Porier, France (& G-League), 6'10"
Rayjon Tucker, UALR, 6'5"
Kenny Wootern, Oregon, 6'9"

There might be more content about him out there.

Agree about the drawing the fouls on 3. As for it becoming a weapon, I just don't think he has the quickness and suddenness in his game from deep to turn into a threat at the NBA level. Niang was probably a much bigger threat from 3 in the G-League, but at the NBA level it's just sort of a borderline weapon for him because he's not quick enough with it. Though Tucker has great athleticism, his first-step, first-decision quickness is not one of his elite attributes, from what I can tell.

not sure what you are seeing but if guys have to respect the drive he can get it off. His form is nice... not lightening quick but he’ll get enough of them up. Royce and Joe have both made the three a weapon and they seem to load it up more.

Found the post workout interviews. They didn't interview Tucker and Walt never mentioned him.

We'll see. I think he can develop the capacity over time. I just don't think it will appear quickly, if he even gets enough playing time for us to tell.

The thing that stands out me is that tucker is great at finishing through contact. He also can lay it in at all kinds of wild angles.

It looks like he gets to the rim in a hurry, too. If he can adopt the “go&catch”, and there is good space, then I can get excited.

Yeah I noticed that too. He reminds me of the old Shanahan-era bronco running backs. A single cut and go. No attacking at the 45 either. He’s going to collect and rumble through the paint. But he has a little wiggle. He’s so strong and athletic, he can go over or through the defense. All the angles are there for him.

Could it be that Mudiay play elevated his trade value so the jazz are antecipating his inclusion on some package ?
