Jazz trade Devin Harris to Atlanta for Marvin Williams (merged)

Since KOC is working miracles, how about this one?

Al for Dragic through a S&T? I'd consider that.

Though I still think Deron is coming back. ;)

Yeah get Marvin out of that back court away from those two other ball hogs, he might be able to do some good things here.

Maybe he too can feed Al in the post and watch him back down for half the shot clock.

I'd trade the **** out of Al for Collison, still. Mo isn't a really viable longterm option. Ship Earl out too.

I like the trade - from the highlights on the net (yes, i know highlights can make any look great!) - he seems to have a nice stroke from the 3pt line - is very athletic - and can finish with authority. He obviously needs to get more consistency in his game based on his game log.

If he can give us 10-15 points per game shooting a reasonable percentage, knock down the open 3 regularly, grab 5 or so rebounds and play good defence at the 3, i think we would all be pretty happy.

He put up some good numbers in his last 2 games for the hawks where he got extended minutes agst the celts in the playoffs going 7 from 11 treys over the two games:

No way that this team isn't better after this series of moves. Hopefully this means no more CJ, Howard, or Bell, EVER.

Hollinger not liking the trade from Jazz point of view. He thinks we should at least be getting a draft pick for our trouble.

May be KOC knows something we don't about Williams?

Personally I think if he can knock down those 3's on a consistent basis and can help with wing rebounding & provide defensive effort, he'll be worth it.

From Hollinger's Analysis of the trade:

However, Utah baffles me. The Jazz just took on an extra year of Marvin Williams at $7.5 million, and I have no idea why. While Williams isn't a bad player, he's not worth this amount and he does little to solve Utah's twin needs of perimeter shooting and real backcourt players. While the Jazz have a ton of cap room in 2013-14, Williams eats into it, and that paper cap room is going to disappear in a hurry if Utah tries to retain any of its own free agents -- such as Al Jefferson, Paul Millsap or Mo Williams.

The fact they just handed Danny Ferry a free pass to potential world domination -- and, ironically, paved the path to their getting Paul with a trade of Williams, the man Atlanta took instead of him in the 2005 draft -- is another reason to question this deal; at the least they should be getting a first-round pick for their trouble.

meh... One mediocre player for another. Not earth shattering trade in anyway. Marvin is not a winner, gets injured quite often and is soft. I guess we needed to get rid of one of our PG's and that's the best KOC was able to find. Does not make us any better or worse. Guess that means no AK back in Utah.
